With the PRI Show over we loaded up our gear and headed straight to the Ritz Carlton for the Orlando Festivals of Speed. We’ve had the pleasure of displaying at the majority of the FOS events taking place and each year they somehow up the bar in terms of providing a quality show for exotic and performance cars to be displayed. This year was no different as high quality cars flooded the of the well manicured courtyards of the Ritz Carlton for the thousands in attendance to enjoy.

We had the pleasure of having Bradi S and Veronika Sznajder representing Titan Motorsports all weekend providing additional beauty to the great machinery in our booth. A big thank you to our client JB for spending the day with us and displaying his tastefully modified Ferrari 599 and Mercedes S63 which we’ve had the pleasure of modifying for him. We’ll definitely be back for more of the Festivals of Speed next year in Orlando and look forward to venturing out to their other shows, including a recently announced trip to Amelia Island in March.
We just wrapped up a busy weekend that saw us displaying at two different shows here in Orlando over the course of 4 days. The first was the 3 day Performance Racing Industry show at the Orlando Convention Center. This industry only show takes place yearly and offers a glimpse into the year ahead in racing. The PRI show is the little brother to the SEMA show that takes place in Las Vegas geared towards the hardcore race enthusiast who wants the extra performance without all the bling. The show features plenty of race cars on display from indy cars to monster trucks, all with one thing in common, the desire to go bigger, faster, and more powerful than the vehicle next to them in the staging lanes. The SEMA organization recently purchased both the PRI and competing IMIS shows and will merge them into one single event for 2013 that will take place in Indianapolis.
This was our second year exhibiting, with a focus on our Titan Motorsports Wholesale division geared towards providing other shops and distributors with access to our wholesale trade programs. We currently supply shops around the world with parts spanning over 185 brands to make sure their customer and shop cars have access to the same great parts we install here at our shop on a daily basis. On display was our legendary Supra race car, Twin Turbo Gallardo, and our latest acquisition not one but two Nissan GTRs which will be used to help develop a line of products and upgrades for the platform.
A few weekends back we took our Porsche GT3 to Roebling Road in Savannah for another great DE event with the Florida Citrus Region of the Porsche Club of America. Most of our fans know us from our days drag racing, but truth be told in our off time we enjoy spending time on various road courses around the Southeast any chance we can get. There are many great organizations such as Porsche Club of America, PBOC, Chin and SCCA who offer affordable opportunities to get started on driving on the track. Contrary to popular belief track driving initially isn’t as expensive as most make it out to be, as a first timer or introductory track driver you can get on track with a well maintained vehicle with nothing more than some high temperature brake fluid and standard performance tires. Most organizations will offer or provide experience instructors to help escalate your learning curve and keep you save on track for your first track experience and the many more that are likely to follow once you get hooked. We provide the necessary pre-track inspections here at Titan Motorsports and can provide any pre-track work needed to make sure you weekend is a success.
Most know Titan Motorsports for our wild turbo charged imports, but our fabrication department works on a wide scope of vehicles whose owners are in search of exclusive one off performance parts. Case in point our good friend Ajay from Daya’s Custom Auto needed a custom exhaust for a 67 Mustang he’s been restoring for himself over the last 1-2 years. Given Ajay’s eye for perfection he needed a custom exhaust setup that would match the high quality restoration already in progress and make sure the small block Ford power plant could breath properly and produce the horsepower needed to shred the tires on the 67. Starting with a box full of mandrel bent 3 inch stainless steel straights and 90s, we built a custom exhaust setup featuring QTP Electronic Cutouts and high flow mufflers. The QTP exhaust cutouts allow a set of valves to be electronically controlled from the cockpit which route the exhaust gas either from a dump valve just past the header or out the back through a set of high flow mufflers. The results is a quality exhaust that will stand the test of time, and allow Ajay to wake it up on the weekends at the press of a button or cruise quietly out the neighborhood without becoming enemy number 1 of his HOA. With our in house fabrication department we can build custom headers and exhaust systems for any vehicle and tailor the fitment and sound to the owners exact specifications.
Titan Motorsports attended the Simply Clean 4 meet at Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach. This meet has grown over the years as it caters to a wide array of enthusiasts looking to meet other like individuals and bridge the gap between specific make shows and appreciate all uniquely modified vehicles. After outgrowing and having to deal with the closing of their previous facility Route 46 in Sanford, the show was looking for a new home to accommodate their growing following and found it at Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach. While this facility was much larger than the previous host, cars of all different genres packed every square inch of the venue proving that the success of the show may require an even large venue next year. At one point the local authorities had to to shut down the interstate exit leading to the show in an effort to control the influx of cars still looking to attend the show. From stanced Volkswagens,leather-es wrapped Saab Wagon, tuned exotics to slammed Honda Ruckuses the show had it all. There were plenty of clean cars and unique trends exhibited at the show, and while we may not agree or understand all of them, this show continues to be one we look forward to attending, until SC5 enjoy the coverage below.
The E Kanoo Racing Supra recorded a new personal best and further entrenched itself in the records books at the Bahrain National Drag Racing Championship Round 1 with a 6.342 @ 218 MPH pass. The car was built and supported by the Titan Motorsports team with veteran driver Gary White behind the wheel. On a qualifying pass the car also recorded a new personal best speed of 222.5mph. The Outlaw chassis car now holds ranks for quickest and fastest Supra, quickest 3/4 chassis import, and is now the 3rd quickest import in history. The team continues their quest for the record books with another trip to Bahrain in December with the goal of becoming the quickest import in the world.
Titan Motorsports is proud to offer a direct replacement polycarbonate front and rear window kit for the MKIV Toyota Supra. Manufactured from 3/16” thick polycarbonate utilizing the same exact shape and contour of the OEM windshield and rear window allows the replacement to be glued in with all factory seals and trim being retained. A permanent screen printed black out border is applied prior to shipping providing a scratch and flake resistant coating to hide the sealant used for permanent installation. Replacing the factory glass with polycarbonate offers a significant vehicle weight savings typically shedding 10-12lbs for each piece, netting a total weight savings of over 20lbs with front and rear glass replaced.
These windows have a permanent anti-fog coating installed from the factory as well as a durable mar-resistant coating to provide chemical resistance and limit light abrasion. For vehicles traveling at high speeds for extended periods of time we do suggest installing bracing to prevent deflection.
There is an old saying that even a bad day at the track is better than a good day in the office. If that statement rings true, then a great day the track is even better, and thanks to great weather and an invite from Porsche, I’ll agree. Yesterday we left Orlando bright and early for a 10:00AM tee time at Sebring International Raceway for an invite only Porsche event, The Porsche World Roadshow.
The day started with a meet and great followed by a tech session on the basics of performance driving from Porsche Sport Driving School’s Chief instructor Cass Whitehead. After the quick classroom session was over we paired up and headed to a large autocross course where we got to put the newly released Boxster through its paces. I typically prefer more pure driving sports cars, however I was quite impressed with the technology in the Boxster after playing with it’s Sport settings and electronic suspension dampening. The performance of the car could be greatly changed for the conditions simply by pressing a few buttons located next to the shifter.
A second autocross course was setup for the Technology drive featuring the Panamera and Cayenne Hybrids and V8 Counterparts. On the short course we were encouraged to go full throttle on multiple occasions and test the throttle response to compare the differences between the 2. When you think Hybrid you typically think of slow Toyota Priuses clogging the left lane, the Porsche version couldn’t be further than the opposite. The Porsche Hybrid delivers amazing throttle response and low end torque thanks to it’s electric motors assisting a powerful NA engine, which delivers a driving experience that sticks to Porsches pursuit of ultimate performance, all while improving fuel efficiency.
With the performance drive completed it was off to the big track for what most participants traveled long and far to experience, driving the latest Porsches on the famed Sebring International Raceway. The format was a lead follow session on the Sebring modified course in the Panamera GTS, Porsche 991, and the 991S. While the driving was done in a somewhat controlled environment, it still allowed us to push the cars through their paces for a few laps each. I left quite impressed with the new 991, which makes the most of recent technology to deliver a great drive, adding new creature comforts not found in the previous model. All of the models we drove were equipped with Porsches new PDK transmission, something as a purist I should hate, however its a phenomenal piece of equipment and for 99% of the drivers out there exactly what they need. A big thanks to Porsche North America for putting on this event and our good friend Andreas at Porsche Orlando for the invite (If you’re in the market give him a ring). This was the ultimate way to test the newest models and draw our own opinions on them, most of which were positive!
The Lamborghini Gallardo platform has become a hot bed for tuners looking to increase the performance of the factory V10 engines using forced induction. With this increased power comes increased cylinder pressure and the factory cylinder liners typically become the weak point. Titan Motorsports has partnered with industry leaders to develope high strength iron sleeves to eliminate this weak link in the engine and allow you to get the full potential from your upgrades.
Titan Motorsports custom sleeves are designed to repair or upgrade the Lamborghini Gallardo V10 Engine block. Produced from ASTM-A536 material to the highest standards for a proper interference fitment, these sleeves provide a full rigid structure once installed while still allowing for servicing of individual cylinders when required.
Available for both Gallardo 5.0L engines and LP560/570 5.2L engines.
