Here at Titan Motorsports we stock over 165 brands, yet we’re constantly getting requests to add new product lines. This week a customer requested a set of lightweight Tillett Racing seats for his track car, so we added the Tillett product line, ordered the seats, and had another happy customer as a result. If you’re a hardcore weight weenie or carbon fiber junkie, check out these seats from Tillett Racing. Weighing in at just over 6lbs not including mounting hardware, these seats are as light as they come. If you’ve got to ask your wife for permission before purchasing parts, or have a 2 hour commute these likely aren’t for you. After sitting in them for a few minutes in the office, they’re not as uncomfortable as they look, however I still doubt wouldn’t be my first choice for a cross country road trip. For a 20 minute spirited session on the road course, they offer a great way to drop some quick weight while holding the driver in firmly. We now carry the complete Tillett Racing product line, inquire with our knowledgeable sales staff for more information.

If you’ve never had the pleasure of having In-N-Out, it’s fast food at its finest, the unfortunate fact is it’s currently only available out west in California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona. They use fresh ingredients, and never freeze the meat. It sounds a bit extreme for fast food, however if you’ve ever had the pleasure of eating it you won’t complain at the effort behind the meal.
Sean’s wife was having a craving after a recent trip out West, which he jokingly mentioned Garrett at Phil Wood Company. Garrett went to his local In-N-Out in California and had them prepare the food and package it separately to preserve it during shipping. A small cooler, Tupperware sandwich packs, and $20.00 in dry ice and the package was ready to ship.
A little over $100 and 24 hours later the fast food arrived safe and read to be re-heated and enjoyed. The only bad part is that no one in the office got a taste, I guess it’s a small price to pay for a happy wife! We’ll likely do this again in the future, rumor has it Garrett’s arranged a deal to have the uncooked fries sent as well, sounds like we’ll need to have a deep fryer installed at the new office.
In just under a week here at Titan Motorsports, this Ferrari F430 was transformed from its sporty stock form to a Novitec Twin Supercharged monster. The Novitec engineer from German was a pleasure to have as a guest in our shop and knew the Ferrari like the back of his hand making quick work of the host of upgrades it received. From the Twin Supercharger kit complete with complete carbon package, to the Novitec KW Suspension with hydraulic lift, everything was installed onto the car without a hitch. We ran out of time on Friday to have the car dyno’d but managed to get some video of it on the highway so you can hear the great sound the car now makes. We’ll have it uploaded to our YouTube site in the coming days. This was the first Ferrari we had the pleasure of working with at our location, however the results where the same as with any other marque, another happy customer with gobs of horsepower and a grin from ear to ear.
Titan Motorsports is now an Authorized Distributor for the complete Novitec line of products for Ferrari.
Our Ferrari F430 project continues here at Titan Motorsports with the Novitec technicians progressing at a neck breaking pace. After a mere 2 and a half days of wrenching the supercharger install was complete and fired up with no problems. The sound of a Italian V8 with twin Superchargers is absolutely amazing, we’ll be putting the car on the dyno later this week, with video soon to follow. The engine bay received a host of carbon fiber, from the engine surround trim panels, to hand crafted intercooler pipes. The quality of the parts offered in this kit are second to none and it’s obvious after taking one look at the engine bay why Novitec is one of the leading Ferrari tuenrs in the world. Now that the car is up and running all that is left is to finish re-installing the factory components, install the KW/Novitec suspension and button up a few minor visual updates on the exterior.
The KW / Novitec Hydraulic lift coilovers where installed on the car today, improving the handling of the vehicle while also allowing the driver to raise the front end 44mm from inside the cabin. This was a much needed addition to this vehicle with it’s slammed stance and Novitec front lip leaving little room for clearance under the front bumper.
On the exterior we also replaced the factory bumper lights both front and rear with Novitec smoked LED units, as well as Novitecs black housing tail lights. Rather than just smoke the factory housings, Novitec went the extra mile and created custom black exterior housings, while leaving the reverse light clear for added safety. The car should be wrapped up tomorrow and get it’s change to exercise it’s extra ponies on our Dynojet 248, an event I’m anxious to report the results of, until then enjoy these latest pictures in the gallery below.
After years of building the worlds most powerful Supras, we find ourselves getting requests from existing customers to venture into new territories with their other vehicles. Most recently our attention has been on the Porsche market, however we received a call to facilitate a Novitec Supercharger kit on a F430 for a customer. We delightfully agreed to have the technicians and parts flown in from Germany as is required for all Novitec installs, and the car you see above is the canvas for this great twin supercharger kit. The car arrived today for what is anticipated at being a 5 day install, I’ll be sure to post plenty of pictures during the install process. The end result should be a car that sounds like pure ecstasy while producing 635hp. Final tweaks and tuning will be completed on our in house Dynojet 248 dynomometer. More updates to come as the install progresses.
After years of development and testing, Tial has released their GT series bolt-on upgrades for the Porsche Turbo. Starting with a garret based core, Tial uses their lightweight custom stainless steel exhaust housings to adapt to the Porsche’s factory exhaust manifolds. Using custom CNC’d brackets they also incorporate factory style waste gate actuators and adapters for the oil lines to allow for easy adaption of the factory hardware. Tial offers these turbos come in 4 configurations tailored for you specific vehicles use and power goals.
These kits come with everything you need to bolt-on and adapt the turbochargers to the factory Porsche exhaust manifolds and hardware. This package includes only the turbo chargers, additional fuel and supporting modifications will be required. We have plenty of fuel solutions available tailored to your goals, and have enlisted EPL’s service to allow the factory Motronic ECU to compensate for the additional airflow these turbos will provide.
Today we recieved the first upgraded first gear kit from Pfitzner Performance Gearboxes in Australia to arrive in the US. We’ve had great success using PPG’s products in the past, and when we heard of the problems arising with the GTR’s factory Dual clutch gearbox, we knew they would have a solution in the works. After a few emails down under we learned they indeed had a solution in the works, so we began discussions to bring this kit to the United States. PPG beefed up the 1st gear width and the width of the accompanying gear shaft as well using their state of the art machinery. Once a heavier duty gear was machined, they treated the gear to their “control atmosphere” heat treating process, ensuring that the gear would case hardened for added strength. Using a computer controlled atmosphere (furnace) where carbon and other elements are monitored and maintained at optimum levels via highly advanced software and sensors, ensures accurate and efficient heat treating, consistently producing a well hardened and strengthened product for Pfitzner customers.
This first kit will be installed in John Reese of Samurai Speeds record setting R35 GTR in the coming weeks. John’s original first gear broke after many launches using the factory launch control as many other GTR owners have experienced. With this upgraded first gear and first gear main shaft we expect the factory transmission to handle the abuse of hard launches allowing John to continue his record setting pace in Samurai Speeds quest for the first 9 second GTR. PPG is also working on a complete gear set for the GTR which should be available in the near future as well, we anticipate to stock both items for GTR owners looking to take their cars to the next level.
Today I felt like a kid waiting for Christmas as the UPS man arrived for our daily drop off. Our new Status Racing Ring GT seats arrived for our Porsche, and I must admit I was highly impressed with them. We opted for the Ring GT seat in a black carbon fiber with black alcantara covering for this application to tie in with the black carbon interior package in our car. The attention to detail on these seats is unbelievable, the weave is perfect, the covering has no wrinkles, and they even include a billet etched serial plate on the seats. These seats are available in a FRP, Carbon, or Carbon Kevlar finish and have covering options available in cloth, suede, and leather in a wide variety of colors. Most seats can be turned around in 2 weeks of less, a very impressive feat given the high standards of quality Status strives to achieve. Like many of their products, these seats meat FIA safety requirements and are acceptable in most racing organizations.
The factory Porsche seats with hardware weighed in at a hefty 60lbs each including hardware. Our new Ring GT’s without hardware weighed in at 21lbs! Even with the brackets and sliders mounted on the seat we still should be looking at a 65-70lb savings for the pair. It’s hard to argue with a great looking, comfortable seat made from quality products that saves so much weight. We’ve been in talks with Status since we first saw their high quality products at SEMA, and are proud to be one of their main East coast distribution points. If you’re in the market for a custom seat or set of quality harnesses, give one of our sales reps a call or email and they’ll make sure you’re covered.
After our last trip to the drag strip it was requested we add a rollbar due to our low 11 second time slip. Fortunately we already had a GMG rollbar waiting or the car, just needed to find time to install it. Our Status racing seats are due to arrive Monday as well so we felt what better time than now than to prep the interior for the rollbar an seat install early next week. First off we weighed the factory seats, I was amazed to find they way almost 63lbs EACH. Our carbon fiber Status racing seats are likely to shave a considerable amount of weight off (probably 55-65lbs for the pair). That’s all find and dandy but we figured it would be best to get as much weight as possible out of the interior while we had the seats out. We stripped all the carpet out so that we could skim the sound deadening foam off before reinstalling the carpet.
This should give you an idea of the process and end result. It’s tedious but well worth it in an effort to make the car quicker.
Heres a better idea of the end result, a hefty bag full of heavy foam, about 35-40lbs worth and we still have a bit more foam to skim off (my hands need some time to rest and heal).
We’ll continue the process early next week, and install our matte Black GMG Rollbar, Status Seats, and Status racing harnesses. While were installing the interior we’ll have the transmission out of the car getting a Guard 40/60 LSD which should help our short times at the track. These improvements should put us well into the 10s in a streetable 996tt, I’m anxious to get her back out to the track!
I headed out to Cars and Cafe this month for the usual round of Coffee and great cars. This month the parking lot was a lot more spread out with cars spaced every other parking spot. This made for much easier photos of all the great cars in attendance. I unfortunately got the the event a bit later than I liked, but was still about to put the 5D to use and snap some pictures of the great cars around me in between conversation with old friends. Cars and Cafe takes place the last Saturday of the month at Colonial TownPark in Lake Mary,FL. The next event will be held on SUNDAY March 29th from 9am-11am as a result of Festivals of Speed being on Sunday, see you there.
