Stillen Supercharged 370Z

August 9th, 2011 Comments off

We just wrapped a supercharger install on this great looking Nissan 370Z. When the car arrived it made 274hp on our Dynojet in naturally aspirated form. After installing the Stillen bolt on Supercharger and supporting mods we strapped the 370z back on the dyno, and after some custom tuning from UpRev to battle the harsh 100+ degree humid temperatures we’re experiencing in Florida, the car made 399whp. A nearly 125hp gain was achieved using this bolt-on supercharger system, and the car drives flawlessly in the street, even in the near monsoon like conditions we’re dealing with. Coupled with an oil cooler to keep oil temps down, and an AP Racing Big brake kit to help slow things down, this is one car sure to leave a smile on the owners face with every drive.

Copper Supra To Be Rebuilt –Better Than Ever!

June 27th, 2011 Comments off

The Titan Motorsports Copper Supra wasn’t in Japan, but it is from Japan, and it too was involved in an unavoidable disaster back in March (click for video). Now, it too has begun the rebuilding process.

As with many things that break, we have now been presented with the perfect opportunity to update and upgrade. The Copper Supra (not always copper) has been racing hard since the early 2000’s and has gone under the knife many times. Each time it has come back stronger and faster than before. This time will be no different.

With updates and revisions including larger turbo and manifold, new roll cage, as well as upgraded suspension components, the once record-holder is eager to get back on the track and once again strut its stuff. Be on the lookout for more news and updates on the Copper Supra as it prepares for NSCRA in December.

APR GT-R35 Carbon Goodies

May 26th, 2011 Comments off

Looking for the latest in carbon bits for your R35? Check out this selection from APR.

The APR Front Air Dam includes two integrated brake cooling ducts (2.5″ inner diameter). These cooling ducts can be used to attach cooling hoses (not included) that lead to the brake system for maximum braking consistency on the track.

The APR Formula GT3 Carbon Fiber Mirrors are designed to give race inspired looks with the functionality of reducing drag and eliminating blind spots with wide angle mirror lenses.

Made of lightweight and durable carbon fiber composites, APR Side Rocker Extensions help reduce lift at high speeds by preventing air at the sides of the car from rolling underneath the car. The reduced lift helps to stabilize the car during high-speed cornering and helps to increase traction for faster lap times.

Twins – Twin Supercharged Novitec Ferrari F430

March 31st, 2011 Comments off

Most people turn their head when they see a single Ferrari F430 on the road, this week at our shop many thought they were seeing doubles. We had the pleasure of having these 2 Ferrari F430 Spiders in the shop the past few weeks. The cars owner originally purchased a 6speed car and equipped it with Novitec Rosso’s brilliant supercharger kit. After having a change of heart he decided he wanted a car with Ferrari’s F1 trans, so rather than trying to deal with the headache of a transmission swap, he decided a car swap would be much better suited, and bought a newer model 430 with the trans he wanted. Once the car arrived it was torn into and received Novitec’s supercharger kit, giving this stallion a bit more gallop. Our heart still remains with the Supra, but I must admit adding forced induction to exotics and creating super cars is also getting a bit addicting. We’re a Novitec dealer and the Southeast install center for all your Ferrari Maserati needs.

Festivals of Speed – Miami

November 16th, 2010 Comments off

Last weekend South Florida was treated to the Festivals of Speed show, which took place in Miami.

There were many fine vehicles in attendance, and quite a good variety too.

There was everything from Ferraris and Lamborghinis, to Porsches and Mercedes.

Even McLaren was on hand with their impressive exhibit (more to come on this). Check out the rest of the gallery for all the awesome cars that made the trip down to Miami.

Titan Motorsports Joins the Exclusive Mickey Thompson 3 Second Club

April 30th, 2010 Comments off

In Drag racing, the primary focus is crossing the finish line before your competitor; however the clock at the end also presents additional goals as you hope to break personal bests and national records for ET and Speed. For months we have tested, changed combinations, and tested again in a quest to join the exclusive Mickey Thompson 3 second club. The requirements of this bounty are simple, be one of first five cars to run 3.999 or quicker 1/8 mile on a 10 ½ inch tire. For achieving this mammoth task Mickey Thompson awards a custom ring, a custom leather jacket and $3000.00 bounty to the first five cars into the club.

With a Toyota 2JZ 6 cylinder with only 186 cubic inches, many doubted we could be competitive against 800+ ci turbocharged, blown, and nitrous combinations. We set out to prove them wrong, and continue our quest for a 3 second pass. After solid test numbers at Alabama International Dragway last week, driver Gary White and Team Titan were excited to travel to Valdosta for the ADRL Georgia Drags with our Scion Tc. The weekend initially proved to be challenging, the Valdosta track was prepped better than anticipated and new challenges appeared. A mechanical issue appeared in the first qualifying session which caused us to abort the run shortly past the starting line. Crew chiefs Brett White and Eric Luzinski reviewed the data from the run and quickly diagnosed and corrected the gremlin. The second qualifying pass ended much like the first with the car leaving with limited power. Brett again reviewed the engine data and made drastic changes to the tune-up for the last qualifying pass of the night.

After testing the new tune-up on the air jacks in the pit, Brett and Eric were confident they had resolved the starting line issues that plagued the first 2 qualifying passes. The team gathered their gear and brought the car to the starting line for the final pass of the evening knowing they had made the necessary changes to get the car to go A to B and make the field. Gary being the seasoned professional he is, trusted his crew had resolved the previous rounds issues and staged the car with something to prove. As the car launched past the starting line it was apparent the car was on rails and ready to make a solid pass. As the scoreboard lit up with 3.996 at 182.45 mph, we realized exactly how solid this great pass way! After many long months of trying, Titan Motorsports had made its way into Mickey Thompson 3 Second Club and added another line in the history books. We solidified our position as the fastest import in the world, and the first ever to make a 3 second pass on 10.5 tires.
