With the ADRL World Finals just weeks away, the crew at Titan Motorsports has been diligently working to ensure the car is prepared for the biggest race of the season. With only a 2 man crew, it’s good that we have sufficient time between races. But what about on race day? Will the two co-crew chiefs be able to handle the heat? Well let’s be honest, of course they can, they have been doing it all season. But just in case, we are flying in our secret weapon all the way from Wilkesboro, NC. Dalton McGuire is an Auto Body/Auto Mechanics major at the Wilkes Community College and will be our special guest to help assist the team as we compete in the ADRL World Finals V, in Ennis Texas. McGuire has been a fan of Titan Motorsports for some time now, and had a chance to meet with the team at the Rockingham event back in September. Dalton told us, “My passion is cars….I love anything to do with cars, working on them, driving them and just hanging out with others who share my passion. I have been a fan of Titan Motorsports for several years and coming to Rockingham and getting to hang out with the Titan team was great. The invitation to come to Texas and help Team Titan was a dream come true”. The Sport Compact Fall Nationals will take place this weekend, October 3rd & 4th, at Englishtown’s Raceway Park. Titan’s very own John Ferguson will be piloting the IPG Civic of James Innes at this weekend’s event.
After recent testing at Orlando Speedway, the engine had a little unexpected wear, and was torn down and rebuilt here at Titan, in preparation for this weekend’s race. In addition to some super-secret engine and turbo modifications, the civic also got a fresh face lift, with a new front bumper to match the flared fenders. The car now not only looks meaner, but sounds it too, and is ready to give the guys in the Outlaw FWD class a run for their money.
Tune in to the Versus network this Sunday, Sep. 27 at 3 p.m., for the broadcast of the recently completed National Guard ADRL Flowmaster Dragstock VI from Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina. This event featured several record-setting individual performances, as well as the quickest fields ever in three of the five National Guard ADRL pro classes, including the first all three-second field in Pro Nitrous. Haltech makes a variety of products that are used on cars, motor cycles, off-road vehicles, boats, jet skis, outboards, snowmobiles, karts, motor homes, and even aircraft. Haltech’s newest system, the Platinum Sport series, will be replacing the E8 and E11’s. The Platinum Sport 1000 ECU is an ECU capable of controlling sequential fuel and ignition on 4 cylinder and 2 rotor applications (semi-sequential on 6 and 8 cylinders).With 8 Channels capable of controlling injection and ignition duties, the Platinum Sport 1000 supports modern engines with multi-coil ignition systems, as well as conventional distributor systems. The Haltech Platinum Sport 2000 ECU is an ECU capable of controlling sequential fuel and ignition on 4, 5, 6 and 8 cylinder applications, as well as Rotary Engines with 2 & 3 rotors. With 14 Channels capable of controlling injection and ignition duties, the Platinum Sport 2000 supports modern engines with multi-coil ignition systems, as well as conventional distributor systems. It looks like that other Australian engine management system has some serious competition.
