Dyno Is Running Strong, So Is This Mark-Third

February 17th, 2010 Comments off

We have been tuning cars day in and day out since we’ve installed our new Dyno Jet AWD Dyno. We have been tuning everything from EVOs to BMWs to Porsches to Supras. Obviously a Supra on a Titan Dyno is nothing out of the ordinary, but they are usually MKIVs. Here is a little love for the MKIII guys. This particular MKIII has a 1JZ-GTE swap. We were able coax 454 HP and 372 TQ out of the 1-J.

With its clean looks and power to match, this Mark-Third is ready to give some of the 2-J guys a run for their money.

Here is the dyno graph from the latest Titan turbo kit install. The Precision ball bearing 62mm turbo helped make 489 HP and 405 FT/TQ. As you can se from the graph, the power comes on fairly early in the power band, making for a good streetable car that still has the power to perform.

Jessica Barton Goes 9.04!

Guest Blog with Jessica Barton

I went out to run my car this weekend at the War of the Imports event we had at my local track. I just recently got a custom suspension set up from Titan Motorsports and it seems to have worked well, shaving off a tenth off my previous fastest pass ever. We still have some dialing in to do, but we will save that for an actual day of testing and not during an event. I wanted to run 8’s so bad today but man with it being over 90 degrees out and the track just getting worse and worse each pass, it just wasn’t going to happen. Hopefully this winter my ET’s will drop lower and lower! Thanks To Darin for getting the car all set up to run, and Titan for getting this suspension made up rather quickly. There will be more info on the suspension soon. I will say the car felt waaayyyy more stable all around on the track, and my first pass of the day I got my best 60’s ever, which was a 1.37. I am still pretty heavy (the car), I weighed it and it was 3400lbs (3393 to be exact). Here’s the video.

Basic breakdown of the slip was
1.39 60′
5.98 1/8
127mph
9.04 1/4
161mph

The perforated leather is a nice update to the Supra interior.

Still the Quickest Street Supra/Import!!

December 7th, 2009 Comments off

Three months ago the owners of Titan Motorsports, Nero and Bottle Deliwala, had been challenged to make a showing at the NSCRA event at Palm Beach International Raceway. Twenty Eight days ago the challenge was accepted, and the final verdict was handed down: The Supra was to not only make a showing in the December 6th NSCRA final race of the year, but to make a statement. At that point we proceeded to call John Brown with the NSCRA, who was more than happy to hear the decision. The NSCRA committed to help in any way they could to get us there, and to make our NSCRA experience as seamless as possible. We can’t thank John or his organization enough for all the support they showed us, and for letting Titan Motorsports add another page to the import drag racing history books.

With the owners committed, the race organization in tune, and our tech being flown in, things were looking good, and we were on track to achieving our goal. Our goal was simple; beat our previous 7.71 record. But that was no easy task. We knew it couldn’t be done alone, and we knew we wouldn’t have to. Our sponsors really step up on this one, as always, and came through with the support and product we needed to achieve our goal. Before we go any further, we would like to give a special thanks to those companies:

Mickey Thompson Tires, XS Power batteries, Nitrous Express, Precision Turbo, Strange Engineering Ringers Gloves, ARP, Adell Wiggins, ATI Super Damper, Borla Headers, Ferrea, Fidanza, Fluidyne, Innovate Motorsports, JE Pistons, Motec, NGK, PST, and RC Engineering,

We arrived to the NSCRA event untested in our new setup, and our first run of the day had already matched our best 1/8th mile run to date. On the second run the car achieved an incredible benchmark in drag racing; a 4 second 1/8th mile run, but unfortunately the car shut off at the 1000ft mark. So we hoped the third run would be the charm, and it was. We ran an incredible 7.66@188.44mph, on a nitrous bottle that ran empty 1000ft into the run. Challenge accepted, statement made! Once again Titan Motorsports would like to thank the NSCRA for letting us be a part of their event, our sponsors, the crew, and the hundreds of fan’s that welcomed us back into the import scene with open arms. Stay tuned for more on the NSCRA event.
