Titan Motorsports 2015 Open House raises $16,154.00 for Charity

March 11th, 2015 Comments off

Our 6th Annual Titan Motorsports Open House took place this weekend and we’re happy to announce that we raised $16,154.00 to be donated to various charities. This event has grown every year since its inception and this year was no different with over 1,100 RSVPs through Facebook in the days leading up to the event. Our entire complex was filled to capacity along with nearly every available square inch surrounding where ever a car could be parked. We want to thank all of our great fans and supporters for their patience throughout the day and for helping make this event as great as it is. We are already looking forward to next years event and hope to raise even more money for charity and providing a great place for motorsports enthusiasts to gather and enjoy our facility and the many great cars that attend.

This year we will be making donations to our two chosen charities the Just in Queso Foundation and Florida Little Dog Rescue. The Just In Queso Foundation provides aid to individuals, organizations and communities in need and has been a partner charity for us since our first event in 2010. Florida Little Dog Rescue helps save dogs on Death Row at local Animal Controls. These are dogs that can’t be adopted out directly from Animal Control, mainly for medical reasons. They are rescued, and receive the attention they need so that they can be adopted into a forever home. In addition to donations to this great charity ,we also had them bring out some of their available dogs to the open house, we’re happy to report that we were able to help one of the dogs find it’s forever home at the event.

We want to thank our event sponsors and participating vendors for their gracious support and attendance:

Titan Motorsports built Ruby Red MKIV Toyota Supra

February 6th, 2015 Comments off

This Ruby Red MKIV Supra came to us all the way from the beautiful Florida Keys. What started as a small laundry list of problems to troubleshoot minor issues and quirks from old age, quickly blossomed into the complete street supra refresh you see here.

The vehicle will primarily be used as a streetcar. The engine and turbo were setup with this in mind. We coupled one of our 3.5L Stroker shortblocks, a Stage 3 Head with Ferrea Valvetrain and TMS 272 cams. A Precision 67-66 turbo provided reliable horsepower with quick spool to combat day to day traffic, while maximizing the power band during spirited driving.

The car arrived with a maroon paintjob that was done sometime early in the cars life. We stripped the car down to it’s bare shell and had the car re-sprayed in a custom mixed Ruby Pearl designed to pay homage to the original vehicle color. This gave it a nice bespoke touch. With the exterior complete, the interior got a fresh set of reclinable bucket seats refinished in custom black napa leather with red stitching to match the exterior. The rest of the interior was wrapped in the same black napa leather and a dead stock TRD wheel was located and installed.

This being a full streetcar the suspension and brakes were also addressed with the addition of color matching StopTech Big Brake Kit front and rears, as well as a set of KW V3 Coilovers. A set of 19” Forgeline RB3C in a combination of Satin and Gloss bronze wrapped in Michelin Pilot Supersports makes the most out of the suspension, brake and power upgrades by firmly keeping the car planted to the road.

Titan Motorspors MKIV Supra Removable Parachute Mount

February 2nd, 2015 Comments off

As we are to push the limits of what many consider a street car, the problem arises on how to meet the requirement by NHRA and other sanctioned drag strips requiring a parachute for cars trapping over 150mph. Titan Motorsports removable parachute mount for the MKIV Supra allows a parachute to be safety mounted to the vehicle for days at the drag strip, and easily removed with a single bolt for normal street driving. Designed in CAD before being laser cut and CNC bent, our removable chute mounts are manufactured from lightweight chromoly steel. The mounts are built in custom fixtures to ensure accurate fitment and are tig welded as well as powdercoated to prevent surface corrosion.

The mount is designed to replace the factory rear bumper support, using the existing OEM support holes for secure mounting. We have also integrated the appropriate mounts to allow the factory foam bumper support to remain in place preventing the bumper from sagging. We also include a CAD drawn cut template to allow you to accurately measure and cut your OEM bumper to clear the chute mount. The required cut hole is designed to be as minimal as possible to allow for easy concealment by your license plate when not in use.

The parachute mounts come already powdercoated in your choice of black or silver.

Wanna Go Fast – Runway 1/2 Mile Event at Jumbolair in Ocala

January 30th, 2015 Comments off

WannaGoFast held their most recent event at the Jumbolair Airstrip in Ocala, FL. Jumbolair is home to actor John Travolta (you can even see his monster 707 in the background of a few of the pictures) and provided a great airstrip for half mile racing less than an hour and a half from metropolitan Orlando. We used the event to debut and begin testing on the recently completed FH Racing Supra and a few of our clients vehicles, and everyone involved had a great time. We hope to see Wanna Go Fast back in Florida in the fall so that we can invest additional time in getting our own house cars dialed in for the event.

Titan Motorsports releases R35 Nissan GTR Transmission Brace

January 14th, 2015 Comments off

The Nissan GTR has proven to be a phenomenal build platform for tuners since it’s debut in 2008, however with increased horsepower its achilles heel has been the GR6 transmission. The factory GR6 aluminum casing have been found to flex under heavy loads, a problem amplified by the use of stickier tires causing mis-shifts or catastrophic failures of the gear box.

The Titan Motorsports GTR Transmission Brace is CAD designed, laser cut from a combination of 1/4 and 1/2 steel, and Tig welded in a structural jig then powder coated. The mount incorporates multiple points of contact with the factory castings at crucial points to reduce torsional flex under load. In addition to multiple points of contact in the differential and axle portion of the gearbox, the brace features integrated solid mounts that replace the factory rubber mounts and providing an additional reduction of flex. Installation requires removal of the transmission from the car, taking this into account it can still be completed in a matter of hours and requires no permanent modification to the vehicles chassis.

Titan Motorsports releases L19 Headstuds for Honda B Series

December 8th, 2014 Comments off

The Honda B-series is one of the most popular import engines ever made. We here at Titan Motorsports have had many requests for an L19 graded head stud similar to what we currently offer for the 2JZ and GTR applications. Currently all ARP studs are produced from their 8740 chromoly and are capable of clamp loads between 180,000 and 210,000 psi. Working along side with ARP, we have designed a new head stud for the B-series and manufactured in their premium L19 material. This will allow for an increased clamping load of up to 260,000 psi. These studs are design as a drop-in replacement for the OEM head studs and require no modification to your cylinder head or block. We have also implemented a new hex broach at the top of the studs for ease of application.

L19 material is primarily used in short track and drag racing applications where inertia loads exceed the clamping capability of ARP2000. Like most high strength, quench and temper steels – L19 requires special care during manufacturing to avoid hydrogen embrittlement. This material is easily contaminated and subject to stress corrosion. L19 must be kept well oiled and cannot be exposed to moisture.

Included in each kit is complete set of L19 head studs, nuts, washers and ARP Assembly Lubricant. It should be noted that the nuts and washers in this kit are manufactured using ARP 8740 material as only the stud is subjected to the increased pressure.

Event Coverage : V2Lab Mystery Meat 3

October 21st, 2014 Comments off

V2Lab held the 3rd installment of their Mystery Meat this weekend in Downtown Orlando. Always a popular event, this year proved to exceed anyone’s wildest expectations with an estimated 75,000-100,000 people and thousands of cars flooding the streets of downtown Orlando. While the event didn’t officially start until 10AM, the vendor lots and surrounding parking lots were swarming with attendees as early as 5:30AM with participating cars ranging from exotics, to tuners, to even the retired NBA superstar Shaquille O’neal rolled through on his custom trike. Unfortunately crowd control did become a factor and a few select individuals helped ruin the event for everyone when the police felt they had limited resources to control such a big event and promptly began shutting down the show early. We’d like to thank Ravi and the gang at V2Lab for hosting us, it was a great event that’s success allowed it to outgrow the city hosting it, we’re anxious to see what’s in store for next year and look forward to attending the next Mystery Meat.
