Check out F1’s newest circuit; Yas Marina Circuit. Designed as an Arabian version of Monaco, the twenty-one corner track twists through manmade Yas Island, off the Abu Dhabi coast, and passes by the marina and then through the Yas Marina Hotel. Yas Marina is the second Formula One track in the Middle East, with the first being in Bahrain.
One of the features of this new circuit is the incorporation of spectacular drag strip right smack in the middle of the track. Shaikh Khalid Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, vice-chairman of Etihad Airways, officially opened Yas Marina’s Circuit’s world-class drag racing centre earlier this week. Just the fact that The Sheikh was present alone signifies just how import the facility is to the sport of drag racing in the region. Additionally, the NHRA has officially recognized the Yas Drag Racing Centre as the first track outside the US as an NHRA worldwide racing network. The first event, the Yas Drag Racing Festival, will take place from March 19 to March 20. The “invitation only” Drag Racing Festival will also feature the region’s top drag race teams competing with over 100 race cars and motorcycles in a variety of race categories.
It’s that time of year again; Christmas time. Every year many of our customers send us gifts of appreciation around Christmas time and we greatly appreciate all of them. One of our good customers, Garrett Enright owner of Phil Wood & Co sent us a wonderful collection of foreign snacks and JDM goodies. Here’s what we got:
Nikki is very excite!
Thanks again to all our customers who sent us a little holiday cheer this Christmas season.
K&N’s Research and Development Department tested the New K&N Typhoo Intake on a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS with a 6.2 liter V8 engine on one of their in house dynamometers. Results showed an increase across the RPM range with a peak horsepower gain of 18.12 horsepower at 5200 RPM.
In addition to power gains, K&N air intake systems are also designed to increase filtering capacity and improve throttle response. The heat shields are engineered to isolate the oversized K&N chrome top high flow air filter from engine bay heat.
This air intake kit also makes use of the Camaro’s factory fresh air duct which provides cooler outside air to the K&N air filter. This filter captures harmful particles, increases airflow and also increases service life. It will perform for up to 100,000 miles before service is required depending on driving conditions.
The mass air sensor is installed in the 90 degree bright intake tube. The mass air sensor adaptors are precision CNC machined, 6061 billet aluminum for accurate mass air flow sensor readings.
It takes about 90 minutes to install. This K&N air intake system, like all other K&N air intake systems is backed by the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
In preparation for the upcoming NSCRA event on Dec 6th, the crew at Titan Motorsports has been ripping apart the Copper Supra, to make sure it is running at the top of its game. Here are a few snaps of this week’s progress.
Nitrous Express has been supporting all of our racing programs since the very beginning; well today they surprised us with an overnight box full of goodies to update our nitrous systems. This would be the first time since we switch over to the 91mm setup that Brett has the opportunity to setup the nitrous kits as needed for this turbo/converter combination.
Also it seems our Strange Brakes were not letting the front wheel spin freely, so we are having them rebuilt. More of the little things that seem to be holding this car back for some time now are finally being addressed.
Ready to take your BMW twin turbo to the next level? How does an additional 80hp and 80tq to the wheels on an otherwise stock car on pump gas sound? How about up to 180hp and 155tq to the wheels on a fully modified car on race gas? Then Burger Motorsports’ new Juice Box 3 is just the product you’ve been waiting for. Bettering upon previous models, Stage 3 improvements include crank position for full 4D engine mapping, air intake temperature for on the fly thermal loading adjustments, direct solenoid control for precise spike free boost control, throttle input for factory like drivability, and fuel pressure control for diagnostic invisibility. In addition, new internal safeguards such as over-boost protection, boost spike protection, and maximum allowable boost solenoid offsets have been incorporated making the JB3 one of the safest tunes available.
Burger has also made installation a snap! Because the JB3 was designed from the ground up specifically for the N54 platform, Burger was able to optimize the unit for reliability and ease of install. The JB3 does not require complicated external power or ground taps which can leave tell tale signs of modification or trigger detection codes, making it the only true plug and play N54 system available. The JB3 box and harness are designed to fit discretely in the ECU compartment with no visible signs of modification. JB3 is offered with two wiring harnesses. Plug and play (PnP), and professional (pin-out). The PNP includes color matched sub-connectors and does not require counting/extracting ECU pins. Installation takes only 15-20 minutes. The pin-out (suggested for more experienced enthusiasts) uses OEM BMW pins in similar manner to JB1 and JB2, and has an install time of 30-45 minutes. Neither version requires the solenoid bypass or any vacuum line changes making removal a snap!

We have installed the Juice Box 3 on Bottle’s 335i, and he loves it. Installation was straight forward as indicated by Burger, and the performance was right on the money. Look for possible track footage in future posts.
Just in, new camshafts form Titan Motorsports. We did a back to back test to see just how good they really are. The test vehicle was pretty basic, consisting of stock cams, Greddy T78 kit, Titan intake manifold, stock block/stock head, AEM EMS, at18 psi on pump gas (93 octane). The only changes to the car were our cams and our cam gears, everything else was the same. The cam gears were set to 0 for testing. As you can see we were able to pick up an impressive 52 HP while still using the stock valve springs and retainers. These are still undergoing more testing and will be available for purchase in the very near future.
That’s right, our own Bottle Deliwala himself will be making a cameo on Versus T.V. on June 7, 2009 at 3 pm. There will be a brief interview, and a bunch of racing action. Check out the rest of the 2009 National Guard ADRL Versus Television Schedule for all the races, times, and details.
