Eibach Releases 2010 Camaro Pro-Kit

August 20th, 2009 Comments off

Eibach Pro-Kit is the perfect answer for most frequently-driven street cars. It’s our legendary spring system that dramatically improves both a vehicle’s performance and appearance.

Pro-Kit lowers your Camaro’s center of gravity, reducing squat during acceleration, body roll in corners and excessive nose-dive under braking. When combined with Plus-1 or Plus-2 wheels and tires, the Eibach Pro-Kit is the finishing touch to a winning recipe for performance. Pro-Kit also reduces excessive fender-well clearance, making your car look just as hot as it performs.

Weldon Racing Pumps revs up fuel filter repertoire: Additional port sizes now available!

August 20th, 2009 Comments off

Regardless of origin, even the “cleanest” of fuels can harbor flotsam, the very reason that Weldon Racing recommends two separate filters to capture these contaminants before they reach the carburetor jets or fuel injection nozzles. It is standard practice to place a filter (coarse) after the fuel tank and before the fuel pump as well as another filter (fine) after the fuel pump to capture any remaining contaminants.

Product Features:

1) Three port configurations -12, -10, and -8 AN O-ring ports
2) Full radiused inlet cap to improve fuel flow within and around filter element
3) Stainless steel end caps for durability—not bare or anodized aluminum
4) Compact size: 5.250-inch length x 2.75-inch diameter x 13 oz.
5) Bright-dipped anodized for long-lasting finish
6) Minimal pressure drop
7) More than 60 square inches of premium filtering area

Titan Wreck at St. Louis ADRL Overcame by RJ Race Cars

August 14th, 2009 Comments off

It’s been another exciting Titan Motorsports/ADRL weekend. We raced this weekend’s ADRL Hardees’s Gateway Drags II, in Madison Illinois, and what a race it was. In the first round of qualifying, Gary and the Titan Scion kicked it off with a bang, putting down a strong 4.063 @ 176.28 mph, before engine failure. Even though this run was good enough to grab the # 1 qualifying position, Friday night’s indent was just the beginning of Titans adversity-filled weekend.

On Saturday, the crew had their hands full replacing the blown engine. The spare was uncovered, and quickly dropped into the chassis. Everything was bolted down and fingers were crossed. The car was ready to go. In the third round of qualifying Gary was all set to square off with Tony Bischoff. “We wanted to make sure things were good (with the engine) and we were just going to make a 330′ hit to make sure we were ready for round 1″ said team owner Nero Deliwala. As the cars took off, all was well. Gary made the hit, and then shut the car down. Everything looked good with the qualifier turned test run, until Bischoff started to lose control of his car half way down the track. All of a sudden the car came across the lane, all four tires in the air, and began to roll. Gary, with split second decision making, narrowly escaped the path of the careening car, but ended up putting the Scion into the wall in the process. Both drivers were a little banged up, but relatively uninjured in the crash. According to driver Gary White, had they have not let off when they did, he would have certainly t-boned into Tony, possibly causing severe injury to both drivers.

Well, now the team is back to square one: banged up car, race on the line. Most teams would have probably called it a day at that point, but not Team Titan. Team Titan with Rick Jones, Rickie Jones, Joe Brown of RJ Race Cars, equipment from Tim McKamis and welding support from Kelly Campbell allowed the re-construction to begin. We had to duct tape the entire front nose of the car, as it was totally mangled. We also used fiberglass and resign to help strengthen it. The fuel cell bar was also bent way out of shape. We tried to straighten the fuel cell bar with a tow strap, but the first 3 attempts didn’t work and about pulled the car off the pro jacks. So we had to drop the car on the ground, Gary got in and held the brakes, we held the car back and brought our Mule (tow vehicle) and used it to be weight/leverage to straighten it. The mule started moving, so we had to hold its brakes. Slowly the bar started to straighten. We needed to move it like 6″ and it moved 1-1/2” so that was about 1hr in and we weren’t getting very far. We went and Robert Patrick had an acetylene torch and we had to cut all the wiring out of the way, remove any fuel that were around and heat up the bar. We also had to remove the fire bottle because the bracket that held it was bent, so when we pulled that out we didn’t pin it and it went off in the pits. It was an interesting situation to say the least. So we had to grab our spare and off we went trying to get it fitted back onto the car. Finally we re-wired the car, checked it out, checked nose fitment (a few zesus’s were busted) and got it working. We then did our standard turn around procedure and found one of the rear Mickey Thompson 10.5’s were cut from the accident. So our 2nd set went on the car. We then checked all the electronics and fired it up, and made sure the car ran good. The car looked like hell, but she was ready to roll.

In the first round of eliminations, we ran against Jason Wilson. Gary was able to put down a 4.145 @ 179 for the win. In the second round, the team was pitted against Jeff Dickey. Dickey ran a respectable 4.181 @ 177.14, but was not able to best the Scion’s 4.107 @ 179.88. In the semi-finals we were up against Billy Glidden. With nearly identical reaction times the cars were off and running. In the end, the huge displacement of Glidden’s engine stole the show with a 4.093 @ 175.78 mph to our 4.128 @ 177.14.

Wow what a weekend! Despite the tremendous setbacks, the team really pulled it together this weekend. We hope to have the car back in tip top shape for the next race in Ohio. Until then, we will be doing our share of tinkering and testing. Please join us on August 21-22 as we race the Ohio Drags III, at National Trail Raceway. We’ll see you at the races!

UGR Viper TT gets Stoptech Big Brakes

August 13th, 2009 Comments off

Our good friend Grant brought his 2000 Viper GTS to our shop for the next round of upgrades to an already impressive vehicle. This isn’t your average Viper, a quick look at the front fender reveals the words “Twin Turbo” right below the emblem. This car had previously been built in Charlotte,NC by world renowned Underground Racing and now features over 1,300whp. The biggest problem behind making such extreme power other than an addiction to the smell of C16, is the need to slow down.

We installed a Stoptech ” Front Big Brake kit which fits nicely behind the 18″ HRE’s on the car, this package will also work with the factory 18″ wheel as well. Stoptech Big Brake kits come complete with their world renowned ST 40 4-piston calipers, 355x32mm lightweight 2-piece floating rotors (in slotted or drilled), Street performance brake pads, and all hardware necessary to adapt them to your vehicle.. Grant opted for the Black calipers, however Stoptech also offers their kits in Silver, Yellow, and Blue. Titan Motorsports can also have the calipers custom painted to match your vehicle for an additional charge (this upgrade is not available directly through Soptech). We finished the upgrade off with Motul RBF600 high temperature fluid, and made sure the proper brake bedding procedures where completed to ensure no pad deposits were left on the rotors..

In addition to being one of Florida largest Soptech dealers, we carry a full selection of brake performance parts from street pads, rotors, stainless lines, as well as Castrol SRF and Motul fluids.

New PPG R35 GTR Gearset

PPG is one of the first to manufacture this HEAVY DUTY helical synchro gearset for the new R35 GTR. This very popular gearest is a direct replacement for the existing gearset found in the R35 and no re-programming is required.

Utilising the standard Nissan ratios the set has been designed with wider components and undergone PPG’s special heat treatment that enables the already strengthened gearset to operate at optimum performance levels This set is designed for street and circuit applications and also offers quiet noise operation for everyday driving.

The PPG 1st gear helical synchro upgrade kit is an excellent choice for providing an added boost to any standard R35 GTR gearset. With a wider gear size, upgraded tooth profile and heat treatment, the 1st gear upgrade provides a much stronger and more powerful gear capable of handling much higher levels of horsepower. The upgrade is a direct fit and no computer re-programming is needed.

BMW 650i recieves some Dinan Love and a Britalman Exhaust

August 11th, 2009 Comments off

We recently performed a series of performance upgrades to this beautifully maintained BMW 650i. The owner Pete loved the features BMW instilled in the car from factory, however he wanted a bit more power without making any sacrifices in reliability or comfort. The car arrived in immaculate condition and our technicians and service staff made sure the car was treated with the same care the owner had by covering it with the provided BMW car cover each night.

Pete opted for a Britalman catback exhaust, an absolute work of stainless steel art from front to back. Since the exhaust was original designed for a coupe, bit of fabrication to fit this convertible model. The exhaust allowed the cars engine to breathe easier without damaging any crucial emissions components, and provided for a bit deeper sound during spirited driving.

We also combined the exhaust with a Dinan performance package that included an upgrade Airbox, Throttle Body and ECU Reflash. These Dinan components further increased the horsepower and torque of the engine without compromising drivability. Dinan engineers and produces its aftermarket performance products to the highest standards and as a result are warranted for the remaining term of the vehicle manufacturer’s new car limited warranty

In addition to the Britalman exhaust and Dinan parts we obtained, Pete also supplied a BMW original M6 steering wheel and aftermarket angel eyes which we gladly installed during the cars stay.

Titan Motorsports is an authorized dealer for both Dinan and Britalman and offers full service maintenance and tuning for most modern BMWs at our Orlando facility.

First 2010 Camaro enters the shop at Titan Motorsports

August 10th, 2009 Comments off

We had the pleasure of working on our first 2010 Camaro in the shop last week. Our UPS rep Jon had just taken delivery and was looking to have the windows tinted to protect his investment and keep his trick interior cool.

Prior to taking delivery of the car it was shipped to DSV Customs for a complete interior refresh. All panels where wrapped in black leather with matching blue stitching and a custom SS embroidered logos in the headrest. The end result is a unique interior that looks and feels like it was transplanted from a car 2-3 times the Camaros cost.

We’ve just scratched the surface of what’s to come for this Camaro, Jon has big ambitions for this project and we’re glad to help him throughout the journey.
