IS-F….w/Laser Beams

October 29th, 2010 Comments off

One of our good customers has returned with his IS-F to have us install his Escort Passport 9500ci radar detector. The Passport 9500ci includes every available advanced feature and is the only unit to incorporate the utility of GPS to identify false alarms and confirmed threats. The 9500ci uses a laser shifting technology to jam laser guns aimed at your vehicle.

The Passport 9500ci is completely undetectable to all radar detector detectors, keeping you unseen and unnoticed. Crystal-Clear Voice Alerts, Speed Alert, Safety Warning System, and its stealth installation make the PASSPORT 9500ci the ultimate in discreet protection.

Another view of the display unit.

Here we have the control module integrated seamlessly into an unused panel.

The rear Laser Receiver/Shifter required only slight modification to fit above the rear license plate frame.

This IS-F now has a 360 degree defense against those pesky radars and laser speed detectors.

Titan Motorsports is a full custom installation and fabrication facility, and can help you with any of your electronic wiring/mounting needs. For more info, contact Marty@TitanMotorsports.com

Titan Sponsors UK-Based Time Attack Team

July 19th, 2010 Comments off

Titan Motorsports has been a long time distributer to UK based Garage Whifbitz, who specializes in Japanese and especially Supra performance. So when we found out that they were running a pair of Supras in the UK Time Attack Series, we were eager to find out how we could help. We pick up on the action in the third round of the UK Time Attack Series:

-Time Attack Round 3 – Brands Hatch, UK-

Unlike the previous rounds, the team chose not to do a trackday the day before Brands Hatch as this is our local circuit, and the one on the calendar we are most familiar with having done lots of testing and trackdays in the past. Paul Whiffin’s car had to undergo quite substantial surgery following the broken cambelt tensioner pulley bracket at the last round in Scotland, as removal of the head showed damage to 12 valves which had been bent when the bracket broke. In addition to replacing the valves, Paul had to have all the valve seats re-cut as these were also damaged. The replacement tensioner pulley bracket was supplied by our newest sponsor Titan Motorsport, who are… jump to full release.

“That’s No Moon…It’s A Space Station!” Ok, so the turbo may not be the size of a space station, but it’s pretty friggin big. The Precision 47-88R is a billet ball bearing turbo, and is spooled by a TMS 3.4L Stroker Motor, TMS Stage 3 Head, and TMS 272, 9.9mm lift cams, just to name a few. With the addition of a 100 shot of nitrous, this customer’s car is making over 1200 to the wheels!

Titan Helps Supra Win Dyno Wars

June 24th, 2010 Comments off

When Utah based tuner Turbo Lab decided to host a “Dyno War” dyno competition, Supra owner Cody Phillips decided he was up for the challenge. There were many strong cars competing in the event, including a Heffner built twin turbo Viper. The Viper laid down an impressive 1208 rwhp, but never really realized what he was going up against. A MKIV Supra is always a force to be reckoned with, especially one with Titan 3.4L stroker motor. Cody ended up putting down 1297 on boost (35psi) and 1497 on spray (37psi), easily beating out the Viper. Congrats on the win Cody!

A Horse of a Different Color

June 7th, 2010 Comments off

Back in April we touched a bit on the Jaw’s Gear 2JZ-GTE powered Mustang and its participation in the WCHRA. Well this past weekend, Jeff and the fellas from Jaw’s went down to Bakersfield for the SCE Summer Nationals at Famoso Raceway. They took the car down with no prior testing on the new 3530lb “Modern Art Masterpiece Fupra” and actually ended up running two classes during qualifying to try and work out some of the gremlins. They started getting a handle on the car by the end of the night but still qualified last with a 9.630 at 145.93mph.

In the 1st round, they were paired with an 8.90 car, and pretty much went in thinking it was game over, but the other car red lit and moved them into round 2. In round 2 Jaw’s Gear was paired with another car working out some bugs and ended up coming around him on the top end for a 9.159 at 157.45mph win. This moved them into the finals where they would face their nemesis Gary Brandt who had been running consistent 8.7x passes all night. In the end, they staged the car, treed Brandt with a .046 RT but lifted out of the gate and were never able to chase him down. Even though they lost the round, they were still able to run a respectable 8.962 at 159.37mph.

Nice Job guys! You definitely have that thing going in the right direction. Keep up the good work.
