In just under a week here at Titan Motorsports, this Ferrari F430 was transformed from its sporty stock form to a Novitec Twin Supercharged monster. The Novitec engineer from German was a pleasure to have as a guest in our shop and knew the Ferrari like the back of his hand making quick work of the host of upgrades it received. From the Twin Supercharger kit complete with complete carbon package, to the Novitec KW Suspension with hydraulic lift, everything was installed onto the car without a hitch. We ran out of time on Friday to have the car dyno’d but managed to get some video of it on the highway so you can hear the great sound the car now makes. We’ll have it uploaded to our YouTube site in the coming days. This was the first Ferrari we had the pleasure of working with at our location, however the results where the same as with any other marque, another happy customer with gobs of horsepower and a grin from ear to ear.
Titan Motorsports is now an Authorized Distributor for the complete Novitec line of products for Ferrari.
Our Ferrari F430 project continues here at Titan Motorsports with the Novitec technicians progressing at a neck breaking pace. After a mere 2 and a half days of wrenching the supercharger install was complete and fired up with no problems. The sound of a Italian V8 with twin Superchargers is absolutely amazing, we’ll be putting the car on the dyno later this week, with video soon to follow. The engine bay received a host of carbon fiber, from the engine surround trim panels, to hand crafted intercooler pipes. The quality of the parts offered in this kit are second to none and it’s obvious after taking one look at the engine bay why Novitec is one of the leading Ferrari tuenrs in the world. Now that the car is up and running all that is left is to finish re-installing the factory components, install the KW/Novitec suspension and button up a few minor visual updates on the exterior.
The KW / Novitec Hydraulic lift coilovers where installed on the car today, improving the handling of the vehicle while also allowing the driver to raise the front end 44mm from inside the cabin. This was a much needed addition to this vehicle with it’s slammed stance and Novitec front lip leaving little room for clearance under the front bumper.
On the exterior we also replaced the factory bumper lights both front and rear with Novitec smoked LED units, as well as Novitecs black housing tail lights. Rather than just smoke the factory housings, Novitec went the extra mile and created custom black exterior housings, while leaving the reverse light clear for added safety. The car should be wrapped up tomorrow and get it’s change to exercise it’s extra ponies on our Dynojet 248, an event I’m anxious to report the results of, until then enjoy these latest pictures in the gallery below.
After years of building the worlds most powerful Supras, we find ourselves getting requests from existing customers to venture into new territories with their other vehicles. Most recently our attention has been on the Porsche market, however we received a call to facilitate a Novitec Supercharger kit on a F430 for a customer. We delightfully agreed to have the technicians and parts flown in from Germany as is required for all Novitec installs, and the car you see above is the canvas for this great twin supercharger kit. The car arrived today for what is anticipated at being a 5 day install, I’ll be sure to post plenty of pictures during the install process. The end result should be a car that sounds like pure ecstasy while producing 635hp. Final tweaks and tuning will be completed on our in house Dynojet 248 dynomometer. More updates to come as the install progresses.
Today we received a much anticipated air shipment arrived at Titan. We’re quite used to seeing parts shipped truck freight, but when you see a pallet come through the door marked air, you know you’re dealing with a serious individual. Were anxiously to check out the contents which are for a project being done in the shop next week, can you say Supercharged horsie?
We finally got the car back from the exhaust shop yesterday afternoon. We didn’t have time to do much with it because it was close to quitin’ time so we left it till this morning to strap it down to the dyno and see what this engine can do once it can breathe.
As you can see from the photos of the exhaust, it can be tricky to route the piping properly under the car. At a glance everything looks symmetrical, but that is far from the case. The differential is off center and the spare wheel recess in the trunk is also a bit different from one side to the next. Either way, Hector at Exhaust Depot took care of the Challenger and everything fits together perfectly. We decided to go 3″ from the header manifold all the way back. This includes a pair of Catco 3″ hi-flow catalytic converters and a Magnaflow muffler which has the X-pipe inside of it. Stock tips were reused, and the pipes where painted black with high heat paint so that people wouldn’t think anything out of the ordinary at first glance. Sleeper style…(if an SRT8 could ever be considered a sleeper)
If you look at max power and torque gains it really isn’t that impressive. But the gains across the rev range were impressive. At 4200 RPM gains were 15hp and 20 ft-lbs, not to shabby, and right in the area where it’s usable.
Somebody better call the feds, we got our hands on a Challenger SRT8. In the coming week we’ll be bringing you news on our plans for this car. Nothing too drastic, but power should be bumped up by about 150 or more.
This last Friday we took the car to Orlando Speed World for some baseline runs and the car performed admirably. My best run was a 13.550 @ 104.12. Over the course of the evening track conditions were deteriorating quickly and could never quite muster the same time. Although they were consistent, I kept losing a couple hundredths per run.  So, we decided some wieght loss, and a drop in tire pressure was in order. I got out of the car and sent in the owners son, Josh, to handle the strip. Although it was his first time down the 1320, you wouldn’t have been able to tell. With 50lbs less wieght and 22psi in the tires he managed to pull out a 13.511 @ 104.33. Hopefully the next time we take the car to the track we’ll be able to track down a set of drag radials.

All in all the evening at the track wasn’t a disappointment (except for the track condition itself). The car did exactly what was advertised. Although we missed the claimed 13.3 second 1/4 mile, we couldn’t blame the car. It did have some unwanted weight in the back (7/8th a tank of gas) and my heavy ass in the driver’s seat.
Monday began with some baseline dyno pulls to see what the Challenger is capable of at the wheels. We did two pulls, the first one being the best. I think the engine fell victim to heat soak on the second pull and lost a few HP and lbft. Tomorrow we should be doing a couple more pulls after the 3″ header back exhaust from Exhaust Depot is installed.
You can see from the pull just how quiet the factory exhaust system is. I’m sure there is quite a bit of restriction that we’ll be getting rid of once the 3″ exhaust system is installed and this beast can breath a little better.
Juan Aviles Vando of Puerto Rico sent us these great screen shots of our Titan Supra that he modeled in Forza2. When Forza2 first came out I spent days playing it and made a similar replica of our street Supra, but nothing like this creation complete with race inspired graphics and all. A big thanks to Juan for taking the time to create this and email it to us, I might just have to fire up the Xbox 360 and take this car for a spin.
Check out this great looking Porsche Carrera RS clone that stopped by the shop while I was away at SEMA. Everyone in the office could not stop talking about how great the car sounded after we installed a new custom exhaust. If the car sounds as good as it looks I can understand why they where so ecstatic with the results, I just hope I’m here the next time the car comes by for more work. I also wouldn’t mind taking pictures of the exhaust, as the only pictures of the car are while it was on the ground!
Here at Titan Motorsports, we have the great fortune of seeing great Supras day in and day out. As a result, it takes quite a bit for a MKIV part to impress me. Last year I sold my Titan Copper Supra, a car many consider to be one of the finest street Supras in the country. The car was purchased by Cavin Green in Ohio, and while close to a finished canvas, the one missing piece of the puzzle was the interior. I had fitted Sparco seats and a roll bar in the car, however it still lacked that finishing touch to put it over the top, as the rest of the car had. Today the last pieces of the puzzle arrived in the dash, door panels, glove box and center console where all wrapped in black Alcantara with suede stitching. It looks amazing on its own, I can’t wait to see how it looks installed.
Over the past few weeks, Titan Motorsports has been prepping James Innes of Innes Performance’s VX Civic hatchback, piloted by Titan’s own John Ferguson. The two have been collaborating on the car for some time now and have even won The East Coast NHRA Sport FWD Championship in 2006! Currently the car has undergone a complete refresh, based on IPG’s specifications/Titan recommendations and boasts such parts as a GSR bottom end, B16 head, Borg Warner S-372, G-Force transmission, Mickey Thompson 26×10 tires, and full Strange suspension.Additionally we have had to add 140 lbs. to make the 2500 lbs minimum weight requirement. We chose to put it in the passenger floorboard to help with the weight distribution. The Civic was dynoed in the heat of July and put down 860 hp to the wheels at 35 psi. The car ran 9.70 in the Florida heat recently and should be even faster when it travels to Englishtown, NJ for the Outlaw FWD Shootout on October 11-12th. Best of luck to the duo, we will post more on the Shootout and the Civic after the event.
