The 24th annual Performance Racing Industry show took place this past weekend, and Titan Motorsports was proud to be a displaying vendor amongst thousands of attendees in our hometown of Orlando, Florida. This industry only show takes place at the Orlando convention center and is attended by over 40,000 buyers from around the world. The show features suppliers and parts for all forms of motorsports from Nascar to monster truck racing to offshore marine. There is also a section of the show devoted entirely to fabrication and machine shops showing off the latest in CNCs and machinery to help make going fast easier. This was our first year displaying at the show, and we received a warm response from attendees and vendors attending the show. In addition to our Titan Gallardo Twin Turbo displayed in our booth, we also had our Camouflage Porsche 996tt, Scion TC Outlaw drag car, and George Bonafede’s Nissan GTR on displayed throughout the convention.

Ebrahim Kanoo and E.Kanoo Racing, with the help of Titan Motorsports and Shane T tuning, set a new world record for the worlds quickest IRS Supra today with a 7.591 @ 179mph pass in Bahrain. This pass was completed using the factory Toyota independent rear suspension using a Titan Motorsports 2JZ race engine tuned by Shane Tecklenburg. The team also just received their new 3/4 chassis Supra built by Titan Motorsports and looks forward to further testing and record setting with it.

This weekend we ventured out to Route46 for the third installment of the annual Simply Clean show. We typically don’t modify vehicles for appearance only or stance, however we can appreciate other passion for their vehicles regardless of the vehicles use. The turnout for this show was one of the largest I can remember in recent memory, and the quality of vehicles present was very high. The parking within the complex quickly filled up and the surrounding overflow lots were full of cars as far as the eye could see. We had a great time displaying our Speed Yellow 996tt, Track Day E92 BMW M3, and RHD R33 Skyline and are already looking forward to next years event.

The first week in November marks the start of the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas, and a weekend without the bosses here at Titan. We enjoy a casual office environment, and a week with no bosses typically leads to some fun pranks, with this year’s target would be Bottles office. Bottle typically refers to his office as “one big 7-eleven” so we decided to fulfill his dream and add the appropriate signage, and a few hundred balloons for good measure. Our original plan was to fill the office from floor to the ceiling with balloons, however after filling our first run of 500 balloons and tiring our fingers in the process, we decided half full would suffice. Bottle was quite surprised when he arrived at the office, he expected a prank, but not one this well thought out! He attempted to work on Monday in his newly remodeled office, however after battling the balloons for a few hours; an exacto knife led them to their demise.

Here is the TITAN Motorsports sponsored SATS Cosworth Drift Team final video report of the year from the last round of the Maxxis Tyres (UK) British Drift Championship. Featuring 14 mins of top class drift action, interviews, and as it’s the last report, a roundup of the year is also included. With just 3 points separating the Supra from the top spot, the SATS Cosworth Drift Team was truly, on the EDGE OF GLORY.

The fall is almost here and as the heat waves that plague our summer begin to descend, the track schedule here in the Southeast begins to open up. We headed up to Roebling Road Raceway in Savannah once again for PCA Florida Crowns fall DE. With great weather on the forecast for the weekend, a caravan from our shop formed on Friday afternoon. We brought along Joe Rekucki, one of our talented technicians to help with setup changes and small issues during the weekend. Kory Gellinger and Jarrett Desmond from our sales department also decided to join and got a full taste of the track as participates in the green run group. We also had a few great customers and friends participating in the event, and were fortunate to have great students interested in learning as much as they could throughout the weekend. Overall the weekend was a huge success with no major incidents at the track, and everyone who chose to make the 4 hour trek with us had a great time.

This also marked the second test session in the camo 996tt since we brought it out being mothballed. Tony at European Performance Labs for providing us with a great new flash for our Bolt on K24/18G with phenomenal mid range for the track. The car performed flawlessly the entire weekend, and provided for many great thrill rides for those attendees brave enough to get in the passenger seat for a session. Jon Miller was able to get a 1:17 out of the car on 3 year old R888s which made keeping the the 550+ horsepower Porsche stuck to the track a handful. I managed to get the car out for a session myself and was amazed at the performance the car has, with some fresh tires and a few setup changes this car has some great potential as we move forward with testing. We’re anxious to get back out to the track in the coming weeks for more great driving, and have a full schedule lined up for the fall. This past weekend we loaded up the Titan rig and headed to Roebling Road in Savannah Georgia for the first Flat Out Motorsports track day. FlatOut Motorsports was founded by 2 great friends of Titan with the vision of providing track days at great tracks with a more private experience than those found at your typical DE event. With the number of entrants limited to just 45 cars, those who participated were allotted more track time per session, and more importantly less traffic on track.

If you’ve never been to Roebling Road, it’s a great track located just outside of Savannah, GA. The track is 2.02 miles, and features 9 turns, many of which allow for very high speed cornering. There is one long straightaway, one which speeds often reach in the 130-155mph range, however it’s not a horsepower track by any means. There is plenty of runoff around the track and only one wall bordering pit lane, which makes it a great track for new drivers or those looking for additional instruction. We geared up for the event by dusting off our Camo 996tt and planned on using this weekend as a shakedown for the busy DE / Track schedule we have over the next few months. Jon Miller, professional driver /driving coach and the newest member of the Titan team was on hand, as well as Nero’s in his BMW E92 M3, and myself in my BMW M Coupe.

Overall we had a great time this weekend, and FlatOut provided a very safe environment to run our cars Flat Out. For an inaugural event the guys did a great job and we’re looking forward to supporting them at future events. Next up we’ll be heading back to Roebling September 10-11 with the Florida Crown Region PCA for a driver’s ed event. This weekend we drove out to Route 46 in Sanford for the Ultra Evolution Summer Jam car show. We braved the blazing heat to check out some of Central Floridas best show cars, while showing off our own Evo VIII and our latest Gallardo Twin Turbo.

One of our good customers Tony B from France made his way over to Santa Pod Raceway for last weekend’s JapShow.

For those of you not familiar, The Jap Drag Series is a 4 class, 5 round Drag Series for Japanese cars. Racers compete for the series trophies as well as the individual event wins.

Although the cars are the main attraction at JapShow, there are a few other reasons I could think of to attend.

Despite less than perfect track conditions, Tony and his Supra were able to put down a 9.70, good enough to claim top honors in Class X. Congrats Tony!
