Yas Marina Drag Racing Center

March 11th, 2010 Comments off

Check out F1’s newest circuit; Yas Marina Circuit. Designed as an Arabian version of Monaco, the twenty-one corner track twists through manmade Yas Island, off the Abu Dhabi coast, and passes by the marina and then through the Yas Marina Hotel. Yas Marina is the second Formula One track in the Middle East, with the first being in Bahrain.

One of the features of this new circuit is the incorporation of spectacular drag strip right smack in the middle of the track. Shaikh Khalid Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, vice-chairman of Etihad Airways, officially opened Yas Marina’s Circuit’s world-class drag racing centre earlier this week. Just the fact that The Sheikh was present alone signifies just how import the facility is to the sport of drag racing in the region. Additionally, the NHRA has officially recognized the Yas Drag Racing Centre as the first track outside the US as an NHRA worldwide racing network. The first event, the Yas Drag Racing Festival, will take place from March 19 to March 20. The “invitation only” Drag Racing Festival will also feature the region’s top drag race teams competing with over 100 race cars and motorcycles in a variety of race categories.

No Race Team Should Be Without

March 8th, 2010 Comments off

Our first annual Titan Motorsports Open House held this past weekend was a huge success. This was due in part by the many contributors and volunteers we had helping us at the event. One such company who provided us with an invaluable resource was NW Radio, who loaned us some of their 2-way radios for use at our event. As one of the organizers of the event, I can personally attest that these radios were great. The clarity, channel outputs and battery life all exceeded our expectations, and helped our event become as successful as it was. These radios are a perfect fit for any automotive or marine race team. Communication is crucial for any team and NW Radio has tons of application to suit your needs. Check out NW Radios Website for more information.

The Nitrous Express SAFE (Stand Alone Fuel Enrichment) system improves the performance of any nitrous system. The SAFE system includes a high strength composite fuel cell that can be mounted in most factory battery trays without modification. This adjustable version comes preassembled with a high output internally mounted fuel pump and an adjustable external regulator making installation quick and simple. Fuel pressure can be adjusted from 3 to 60 psi (no special jetting is required). The regulator is also boost referencing which makes it compatible with supercharged and turbocharged applications. When used with Gasoline, this system will support up to 800 nitrous horsepower. When used with Methanol, this pump will support will support up to 400 nitrous horsepower. When used with race gas or methanol, the need to retard timing is significantly reduced. Often on V8 engines using nitrous boosts of 150 horsepower and above, zero timing retard is required. The SAFE system reduces the need to upgrade OEM fuel pumps, and will completely eliminate pressure drop at the fuel rail in EFI vehicles. The SAFE System includes an integrated fuel level gauge and all mounting hardware for a no hassle installation!

Dyno Is Running Strong, So Is This Mark-Third

February 17th, 2010 Comments off

We have been tuning cars day in and day out since we’ve installed our new Dyno Jet AWD Dyno. We have been tuning everything from EVOs to BMWs to Porsches to Supras. Obviously a Supra on a Titan Dyno is nothing out of the ordinary, but they are usually MKIVs. Here is a little love for the MKIII guys. This particular MKIII has a 1JZ-GTE swap. We were able coax 454 HP and 372 TQ out of the 1-J.

With its clean looks and power to match, this Mark-Third is ready to give some of the 2-J guys a run for their money.
