Dyno Is Running Strong, So Is This Mark-Third

February 17th, 2010 Comments off

We have been tuning cars day in and day out since we’ve installed our new Dyno Jet AWD Dyno. We have been tuning everything from EVOs to BMWs to Porsches to Supras. Obviously a Supra on a Titan Dyno is nothing out of the ordinary, but they are usually MKIVs. Here is a little love for the MKIII guys. This particular MKIII has a 1JZ-GTE swap. We were able coax 454 HP and 372 TQ out of the 1-J.

With its clean looks and power to match, this Mark-Third is ready to give some of the 2-J guys a run for their money.

Cars for Cure 2010 benefiting the American Lung Association

February 9th, 2010 Comments off

This weekend we had the pleasure of attending the annual Cars for the Cure show in Lake Mary Florida. We’ve had the pleasure of helping with the organization and planning of this American Lung Association event for the past 5 years. Aside from some heavy breezes, the event was a huge success as countless enthusiasts, vendors and spectators spent the day enjoying the sea of great cars all while benefiting a good cause. Standouts from the show include a Bugatti Veyron Sang Bleu (1 of 1), Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir (1 of 5), Vintage Porsche 356 Outlaw, and countless other modern exotics and supercars. The event was a huge fundraising success for the ALA, and we look forward to attending the 7th annual show in 2011.

Porsche 997 Carrera S gets a Full Make Over

February 9th, 2010 Comments off

This beautiful Porsche Carrera S made its way through our shop for some performance upgrades. The owner was looking to use the car for track days and the occasional car show, and wanted a car that handled as well as it looked. We started off by installing a set of KW Variant 3 coilovers and StopTech Big Brake kit front and rear before having the car corner balanced and aligned. A Clutchmasters Clutch was also installed with a lightweight flywheel to make for easier rev matches when tackling local road courses such as Sebring International.

With the performance upgrades out of the way, the customer wanted to make sure the car had an aggressive look to go with the upgraded performance. The customer chose a Vorsteiner front and rear bumper with carbon fiber accents. For the rear wing he wanted to stand out from the pack with a side mounted adjustable wing blade, this particular wing is common in the aftermarket for turbos versions of the 997, but had not been previously made for a Carrera. Rather than tell the customer it was not available we contacted our good friends at MA Shaw who made a custom mold and narrow wing blade for the vehicle. The end results is a wing that is lighter than stock, super functional, all while remaining aesthetically pleasing.

The body shop completed the visual upgrades to the car late last week, just in time for the car to take home a plaque at the 6th Annual Cars for the Cure show this weekend. An award winning Porsche that can comfortable be driven on the street during the week and tear up the track on the weekends, who can argue with that.

Edelbrock Releases New Mustang Supercharger System

February 8th, 2010 Comments off

E-Force Supercharger system for 2010 Ford Mustangs equipped with a 4.6L 3V (#1582). Based in large part on the existing supercharger for ’05-’09 Mustangs, this new kit will allow the 2010 Mustang to produce an impressive 466 HP and 439 ft/lbs of torque with very low boost. This design is engineered and manufactured by Edelbrock and features an Eaton® Twin Vortices Series (TVS®) GEN VI rotor assembly – the same internals used on the new Corvette ZR-1.

The supercharger assembly is integrated into Edelbrock’s unique intake manifold for a truly seamless design with minimal components. The intake features 15″ long runners for maximum low-end torque and an integrated bypass valve that helps reduce parasitic loss under light throttle, which improves mileage potential. Keeping the air cool is a 110 square inch, high capacity, air to water intercooler – the largest of its kind available on the market today – and a full face low temp heat exchanger. A new injection molded high-flow air-box cover keeps the 2010 50-state emissions legal (E.O.# D-215-72). The assembly is finished with a matching set of coil covers uniquely styled to give your engine compartment a custom look.

This complete Edelbrock E-Force supercharger kit includes everything you need to bolt it on under the hood of a 2010 Mustang 4.6L 3V, including supercharger/manifold assembly, air inlet with 85mm throttle body, injection molded air-box cover, fuel injectors, air-to-water intercooler, coil covers and handheld flash programmer to properly tune the factory ECU for the added power. Edelbrock offers an optional 5-Year/60,000 mile warranty.

The supercharger is also available as a competition kit #1587. Intended for purpose built race cars, the competition kit is supplied with only essential components and does not include the programmer, injectors, coil covers or primary pulley. Four pulley sizes are available, in diameters from 3.50″ to 2.75″ depending on the desired boost level, as well as a competition air intake system that eliminates the stock air box for improved air flow. Please note that these parts are only intended for use with the competition kit, and will void the E.O. certification of the #1582 street-legal kit.

Features Include:

• More horsepower per psi than any other Mustang system on the market
• 2300cc (140 cubic inch) Eaton® TVS® GEN VI rotor assembly
• Unique intake manifold design with 15″ long runners for increased low-end torque
• 100,000 mile self-contained oiling system
• Installs under the stock hood while maintaining factory accessories
• Complete package includes supercharger/intake assembly, air inlet with 85mm throttle body, fuel injectors, air-to-water intercooler, and flash tuner with proper calibration
• Optional 5 Year/60,000 mile warranty
• The most efficient system available – 466 HP and 439 ft/lbs. of Torque with low boost!
• Made in USA for absolute quality and performance
• 50 State Emissions Legal [ E.O.# D-215-72 ]
