New Location Update 4

June 25th, 2009 Comments off

Finishing work is still being completed at our new location on Boggy Creek and we’re getting very close to the move. A bit more red tape to cut through with the city and a bit more finishing and we should be ready to move into this state of the art facility.

The tiles and insulation are being installed in the ceilings, making the call center pretty much ready for move-in.

The sun rises towards the entry windows to the building so we added some much needed tint to reduce glare and keep the temperatures cool. The window on the left is tinted, the right is not, you can the see the difference quite easily. Flying Window tinters handled the install and did a fabulous job as they do on our personal vehicles as well.

With 6 loading docks in the rear of the building, our sending and receiving areas will be less cluttered. allow for easier transitions into the awaiting logistic companies trucks for delivery.

We’ve begun testing product spacing to allow for an easier move. It’s amazing how quickly the space fills up with larger products, fortunately we’ve got plenty of shelves to fill.

Full details on the build can be found in the article in snapshots below for those who do not have access to this great magazine on their local newsstand.

A Must for any lowered vehicle owner : Race Ramps

June 22nd, 2009 Comments off

As the import performance market continues to evolve, an increased importance has been placed on the stance of a vehicle. While lowering a vehicle often improves the overall handling of a vehicle by lowering its center of gravity, many choose to install coilovers or lowering springs to rid their vehicles of unpopular wheel gap. The big downside to having a lowered vehicle is decreased ground clearance for lifting or trailering the vehicle. Race Ramps has come to the rescue with an ingenious product that is both lightweight and portable, while remaining fully functional. These textured ramps bridge decrease the angle of entry allowing lower vehicles to enter an incline at a more gradual angle protecting the under carriage from damage. Their textured finish not only protects them from the elements, but also allows them more traction to prevent from sliding during entry.

Race Ramps trailer extenders make loading and unloading your vehicle into a trailer an absolute breeze. Gone are the days of worrying about shooting 2x4s from under your car while looking for that extra clearance. Race Ramps . We personally use the Race Ramp RR-TR-5 model at Titan, and have had nothing but success loading super-low cars on any trailer (we’ve even gone as far as loading a drag Supra on a U-Haul). In addition to the trailer extenders, we are also avid users of Race Ramps Trak-Jax and use the RR-TJ-S model at our shop. This product allows you to gradually raise the front or rear of the vehicle to allow jack or lift access under vehicles that would not normally be possible on anything but a recessed lift.

Race Ramps offers a variety of ramps to fit nearly any application and use, and will even offer a custom ramp program should you find an oddity that doesn’t exist in their standard catalog. Titan Motorsports carries the complete line-up of Race Ramp products, many of which can be purchased online at our website.

Aston Martin SuperVantage

June 17th, 2009 Comments off

It’s not a common occurrence to see an Aston Martin on the streets, and even more rare when it’s an aftermarket SuperCharged Aston. We had the pleasure of servicing this ESX Supercharged Vantage dubbed the “SuperVantage” which received a pulley upgrade and additional tuning. An ACT clutch was also added to make sure the drive line could handle the extra power being produced by the Supercharged 4.3L V8. We handled all aspects of the service for the customer including transport to and from our location, allowing our customer to focus on other priorities while we do what we do best, create reliable horsepower.

Porsche 996tt receives Pre-Delivery K24/18G Upgrade

June 9th, 2009 1 comment

Quite frequently we get emails and calls from potential customers looking to research a car they do not own yet. Matt Powell contacted us about a month back while investigating the purchase of a Porsche turbo to receive our K24/18G upgrade. About a week later Matt called to let me know that he located a car in Tampa and was having it delivered to us to be upgraded prior to him taking delivery. The dealership performed a PPI inspection prior to delivering the car to us, however we took some extra time to check the car out and baseline the car on our dyno, discovering the car already has a ECU flash to optimize the factory turbos. Over the next few days we installed our popular K24/18G kit featuring EPL Tuning with ECU controlled boost control. The car also also received a set of our Standard Issue diverter valves and a Clutch Master Stage 3 clutch upgrade with a new Porsche dual mass flywheel to be sure the driveline was able to handle the extra torque produced by the upgrades.

After finalizing the upgrades we again put the car on our DynoJet and the car spun the rollers to 565whp/556tq picking up an impressive 113whp and 79tq all on 93 octane. Again these numbers where in addition to the factory ECU already having a performance flash optimized for the factory turbos, making the gain even more impressive. Matt now has one screamer of a Porsche, I’m sure the extra power made the 12 hour drive back to Mississippi much easier and quicker!

Titan Motorsports offers a vehicle locating service for those looking to have the sports car of their dreams delivered to their door turnkey with the modifications of their choice already installed, email wes@titanmotorsports.com for more information.

Titan Motorsports New Location Update 3

June 8th, 2009 Comments off

We’re getting much closer to move-in, the warehouse is setup and ready to go, and with a few finishing details and we’ll begin our fun moving process. The biggest updates this week came from the flooring being installed in various departments throughout the building.

The wood flooring was installed in the showroom, we opted for a dark wood to contrast with the walls and match the stainless and black fixtures that will decorate the walls.

The shop side of the warehouse received it’s epoxy coat with polyurethane clear. We’ll be finalizing the layout of equipment

The bathrooms received slate gray tile and their appropriate fixtures.

Our carpets arrived for the call center and offices, rather than go with a neutral color we opted for a high end designer carpet which takes cues from the green in the walls.

Our shipping manager Kris has his own fabricated office in the back of the warehouse to make deliveries much more convenient. The office can easily be moved to different portions of the warehouse should we ever need to reconfigure the shipping and receiving area.

Titan Motorsports 264 Camshafts For Stock Valvetrain.

264-dyno-copy

Just in, new camshafts form Titan Motorsports. We did a back to back test to see just how good they really are. The test vehicle was pretty basic, consisting of stock cams, Greddy T78 kit, Titan intake manifold, stock block/stock head, AEM EMS, at18 psi on pump gas (93 octane). The only changes to the car were our cams and our cam gears, everything else was the same. The cam gears were set to 0 for testing. As you can see we were able to pick up an impressive 52 HP while still using the stock valve springs and retainers. These are still undergoing more testing and will be available for purchase in the very near future.

Super Street Shootout 3

June 4th, 2009 Comments off

On May 30th Titan Motorsports made the trip to Salinas Speedway in sunny Puerto Rico for the Super Street Shootout 3. We brought our 700 hp camo Porsche 996 as well as our world famous Copper Supra. We made 4 runs good runs with the Supra; two low 8 second passes, a 7.94, and our last pass we went 7.89 at 181 mph. We didn’t race in a class, as this was strictly exhibition. The race team had their hands full with the tremendous Caribbean heat, but despite this fact, they were still able to lay down the fastest times of the weekend. The event over all was fantastic and the fans and supporters where outstanding. Everyone was very excited to get a glimpse of the world’s fastest street Supra in action. Titan Motorsports would like to thank all those who made this event possible, especially Ronald, Omar, Raymond and all the wonderful fans and supporters at the event. We’ll see you at the races.
