The 2014 Titan Motorsports Open House was a huge success, the event went off without a hitch and we couldn’t have asked for a better group of enthusiasts to enjoy the perfect weather and take in some amazing vehicles. Our facility was jam packed the entire day with every available square inch of parking taken up in our parking lot and all of our neighboring complexes. This year we partnered with the Just in Queso Foundation, The Just In Queso Foundation provides aid to local individuals, organizations, and communities in need. With the help of our dedicated fans and local enthusiasts we were able to raise $14,054.00 for a worthy cause.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our many great vendors and sponsors; Fragola,DBA, ISC, Manley, ARP, Fuel Lab, Mackin, Fidanza, Dei, Gates,Aeromotive, Accell, Cometic, Simpson, Denso, Bosch, Exedy, Royal Purple and E3. We also want to thank the great people at Simply Clean, Lowered Lifestyle, Highway Star, and ILDS for their gracious attendance and help in promoting the event. Tijuana Flats once again donated all of the food for the event and was able to keep the lines flowing throughout the day and make sure no one went hungry.

Were already looking forward to next years event and will work to improve the event as much as possible once again, if you’ve got any suggestions or comments on how the event could be improved, please email them to wes@titanmotorsports.com and we’ll do our best to address them in time for next year.

Titan Motorsports displays at the 2014 UK Autosport Show

January 15th, 2014 Comments off

The Autosport International show just wrapped up in Birmingham, UK and Titan Motorsports once again had a display in the engineering hall of the convention. The engineering hall is open the first 2 days of the show and is reserved for trade only, allowing a great opportunity for us to meet face to face with our distributors in the UK. The show spans a total of 4 days and unlike its US counterparts allows the public to attend and see the latest in motorsports gear. With many F1 teams calling the United Kingdom home, this is the show where you can expect to see the absolute latest and greatest technologies before they get trickled down into the tuner market. The level of quality of the parts required in these technological marvels truly must be seen in person to appreciate. From entire carbon fiber air boxes for the Bugatti Veyron, to complete billet transmissions for V8 Supercars, there’s something for everyone at Autosport.

Another highlight of the show was the unveiling of the latest SATS Motorsports drift Supra for the 2014 BDC season. We’ve had the pleasure of being a technical partner for the team for many years now and helped supply quite a few parts for the latest build. The team started with a fresh chassis and ground up build for this season and we look forward to seeing great results from the team with Mark Luney behind the wheel. We enjoyed the great hospitality we experience across the pond from our customers and friends and look forward to attending the show again next year and further building these great partnerships.

Titan Motorsports visits Cosworth Headquarters in Northampton UK

January 14th, 2014 Comments off

We’ve just returned from yet another trip across the pond for the annual Autosport trade show in the UK. Whenever we travel to a race or trade event we try our best to take in the local culture and check out shops and manufactures in the region. This particular trip had us traveling by train from London to Birmingham, allowing us to stop in Northampton and visit the headquarter of one of the UK’s most well known brands Cosworth. As a Cosworth distributor here in the states we were able to arrange a private tour of their facilities, unfortunately much of it was off limits to our phones and camera.

The buildings encompassing Cosworths compound date back over 60 years and houses every piece of equipment a gear head could want. This allows them to design, test, machine, and produce nearly any engine or performance part without leaving their compound. We’ve visited many engine shops and parts manufactures in the past and were blown away by some of the technology that Cosworth had at its finger tips. We shouldn’t have been surprised knowing they’ve produced Indy car and F1 engines in the past, but seeing such capabilities in person is a completely different reality. A typical engine shop having an engine dyno is expected, but when you see 3 shop sized dyno test cells designed for F1 engine testing and a number of “standard” engine dyno cells it really puts into perspective the technology Cosworth possesses. All this technology is not just for show as the same machines used to produce F1 engines produce their street geared aftermarket parts. As we toured their engine assembly room we even witnessed a customers Subaru engine being assembled in the same space as a Formula1 engine undergoing routine service.

The Cosworth Museum was open to photography and displays competition engines from nearly all forms of motorsports from rally to Formula 1. The pictures below shows the amazing engines produced by Cosworth that illustrate the technology that goes into Cosworths history of producing competitive race engines for their customers. Titan Motorsports is a distributor of Cosworth parts here in American and carries their complete line of aftermarket products. We’d like to thank Simon and Mark at Cosworth for taking time out of their schedule to show us around.

Titan Motorsports Coverage of Festivals of Speed Orlando 2013

December 4th, 2013 Comments off

The Festivals of Speed show at the Ritz Carlton Orlando is one of those shows we look forward to displaying at every year. In addition to taking place in the courtyards of the beautiful Ritz Orlando, the show always brings out the states heavy hitters and cars that may only leave their garage a few times a year. One such vehicle that stole the show was the all carbon Pagani Huayra that Pagani Miami brought to the show. We saw this beautiful car at Sema, however the Festivals of Speed offered a much more in depth look into all the details that go into making this rolling work of art. This year our display included a Ferrari 458, Titan Motorsports M5, McLaren SLR, Titan built Lamborghini Gallardo, Titan customized Plymouth Prowler, and one of a kind Mclaren MP4-12C High Sport. We want to thank Mac Racing for bringing out their great collection of cars, many of which we’ve had the pleasure of working on in our shop, as well as Akropavic USA for displaying their beautiful 458 titanium exhaust.

The Mac Racing team won 3 Best of Show awards for their SLR,Prowler and Lamborghin, the later 2 had both received major updates over the last year in our shop. We’re already looking forward to next years show and have a few builds in the works for the next year to help bring home some additional hardware.

Titan Motorsports Visits the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas

November 14th, 2013 Comments off

This years Sema Show in Las Vegas was the biggest in history, and after walking the show for days and not feeling like we’d seen everything, we’d have to agree. After a long weekend of racing the countless aisles of show floor took its toll on our aching feet even with the most comfortable of shoes on. This was the year of Tra Kyoto as Rocket Bunny and over fenders seemed to be on every other car in the show. We could count no less than 25 FRS sporting their kit, and probably half as many E92 M3s. Their recently completed Ferrari 458 was one of the most talked about cars prior to the show on social media and a trip by the Nitto booth showed the car lived up to the hype in person. The FRS continues to be one of the most tuned current releases and the show was littered with companies showing their latest wares for the car, from forced induction, wide bodies, air suspension and wheels. The popularity of exterior wraps continues to grow with a number of new colors displayed at the show including many variations of chrome foils and even animal prints ( although it was odd to see 40-50 cars wearing the same matte blue or red colors from last year). Drifting continues to grow in popularity and the show was used as a launchpad for a number of new deals and news about the series. Interest in the 2JZ in FormulaD has grown and the interest for a Titan Motorsports program continues to grow, we’ll see. Rotiform, Forgeline and HRE Wheels adorned the vast majority of the cars in the performance hall with new finishes and designs for 2014. The trend in the wheel world seems to be going towards directional designs, which may be the “new concave” for 2014 in the stance world. Fabrication and minimalism also seems to be on the rise, a trend we can agree with as builds relied less on body kits and bling to stand out and focused more on one off parts and attention to detail. The quality of cars and innovation at Sema continues to blow our minds, we can’t wait to see whats on display next year.

Imports vs Domestic World Cup Finals at MIR

November 13th, 2013 Comments off

The Import vs Domestics World Cup Finals at MIR in Budds Creek, Maryland is a fantasticly run event that typically marks the end of the racing season in the Northeast. This event was the second stop in a wild week of travel for the Titan team that had the crew racing on 2 continents in the same weekend before heading to Las Vegas to the Sema show. The first stop resulted in the E Kanoo Racing Supra bettering it’s previous Worlds Quickest and Fastest Import setting a new time of 6.15 @ 230mph. Immediately upon finishing the event in Bahrain the crew boarded a flight to Dulles and rushed to the track for what would end up being the only round qualifying after a number of event delays. With limited test data the car was set conservatively, allowing Victor Flores from Puerto Rico to wheel the car to a 6.60 @ 220, placing it solidly in 32 car field at Q10.

The late fall race brought brisk air temperatures which allowed our Titan 2JZ to make plenty of extra horsepower, combined with the equally cool track temperature, this made for a narrow tuning window to get the car to go down the track. Dialing the car to the track between rounds and having a bit of luck on our side allowed the car to go rounds finishing a solid runner up to it’s sister car the New Generation RX8. In addition to having both cars in the finals, the RX8 became the worlds quickest rotary with it’s 3 rotor engine powering it through the traps to 6.27 @ 218 time slip. The event capped of a fantastic year of record setting performances, we’ve already begun planning for a more impressive 2014.

Titan Motorsports releases Nissan GTR Adjustable Front Control Arm Kit

October 17th, 2013 Comments off

Titan Motorsports has released it’s latest offering for the popular Nissan GTR, it’s chromoly front control arm upgrade kit which features quick camber barrel adjusters. These tubular chromoly control arms are a direct replacement over the factory units.

A single barrel camber adjuster allows for quick alignment changes by loosening the jam nut, inserting a standard 1/4 ratchet into the end of the barrel adjuster and turning to lengthen and shorten the upper rod end. The adjuster allows for changes from a factory setup to significant negative camber for those wanting to run wider tires and increase grip at the track. In addition to the benefits of camber adjustments, these control arms also replace all rubber bushings with durable race proven FK spherical bearings reducing play and increasing feedback for the driver when using tires with increased grip.

The control arm comes complete with all spacers and hardware required for installation.

Custom Nissan GTR 6 Point Rollbar in Deep Blue Pearl

October 11th, 2013 Comments off

The Nissan GTR Roll bar has been a huge success for us as many sanctioned race tracks require such for cars going quicker than 11.50 in the quarter mile. Our standard bars options in a variety of colors fit most consumers requirements, however every now and then we get custom requests which we’re more than happy to produce (at an additional cost of course). This particular customer was interested in a 6pt Roll Bar for his Nissan GTR. In addition to wanting 2 extra points of contact over our standard 4pt bolt in unit, the customer wanted the door bars to be removable and the color matched to his cars deep blue pearl exterior. With our new computer assisted bender from Baileigh Industrial we’re able to take customers ideas like this one and make them a reality. Designs are first drawn in CAD software and then sent to the bender allowing precision fit and repeatability. All of our roll bars are produced from chromoly and Tig welded in house before being sent off for finishing. Custom colors can be produced using powder coat for most colors, however in the event an exact match is not available we can have the bar painted using the same high quality paint process used on the cars exterior.

Titan Motorsports Upgraded Gallardo Ring and Pinion

September 26th, 2013 Comments off

Titan Motorsports has worked with its development partners to produce an upgraded ring & pinion designed to fit all Lamborghini Gallardo and LP models. This upgraded ring & pinion set features the Klingelnberg Palloid spiral bevel gear system and is machined from a solid billet of high grade steel. The Klingelnberg Palloid is designed to provide a beneficial rolling motion of the gear teeth as they mesh, although its method of production is generally more expensive than the typical Gleason and Oerlikon designs common in mass manufacturing. The Klingelnberg system maintains the tooth width along the crownwheel tooth unlike some other systems, this delivers an incredible increase in tooth strength. All manufacturing is carried out on state of the art CNC mills, lathes and gear cutting equipment. Once the initial machine work has been completed and all tolerances checked using a 5 Axis CNC co-ordinate measuring machine, the surfaces are then shot peened finished as an anti-fatigue treatment. The ring & pinion then are isotropically finished to deliver a superior working surface that reduces friction, drag, and heat preventing horsepower loss and delivering a quieter mesh that is more resistance to pitting and wear.
