Titan Motorsports has been a long time distributer to UK based Garage Whifbitz, who specializes in Japanese and especially Supra performance. So when we found out that they were running a pair of Supras in the UK Time Attack Series, we were eager to find out how we could help. We pick up on the action in the third round of the UK Time Attack Series:
-Time Attack Round 3 – Brands Hatch, UK-
Unlike the previous rounds, the team chose not to do a trackday the day before Brands Hatch as this is our local circuit, and the one on the calendar we are most familiar with having done lots of testing and trackdays in the past. Paul Whiffin’s car had to undergo quite substantial surgery following the broken cambelt tensioner pulley bracket at the last round in Scotland, as removal of the head showed damage to 12 valves which had been bent when the bracket broke. In addition to replacing the valves, Paul had to have all the valve seats re-cut as these were also damaged. The replacement tensioner pulley bracket was supplied by our newest sponsor Titan Motorsport, who are… jump to full release.
Drag racing has had its ups and downs over the past few years. From the glory days of sport compact and NHRA racing, to the inevitable evolvement of the ADRL, Team Titan is still here, still racing, and still finding our way to the winner’s circle. For those of you not familiar with the American Drag Racing League (ADRL), it comprises one of the most competitive environments in drag racing, fueled by passion and filled with diversity. The Titan Team has been battling in the Extreme 10.5” class (XTF) and competes against motor programs that have nearly tripled the displacement of our little 2JZ. We love the challenge of ADRL and the crew has definitely stepped up, recently becoming the first Import to break into the 3 second barrier (1/8th mile). Since being inducted into the Mickey Thompson 3 Second Club, we have consistently ran 3’s at all three of the last races, winning both the U.S. and Summer Drags, and claiming the #1 qualifying position for the rained out Independence Drags, which will be resumed in Texas next week.
Be on the lookout at your local newsstand for the September ’10 issue of Drag Illustrated. To follow Team Titan’s progress, check out ADRL’s Home Page, where you can follow along LIVE with all the action.
“That’s No Moon…It’s A Space Station!” Ok, so the turbo may not be the size of a space station, but it’s pretty friggin big. The Precision 47-88R is a billet ball bearing turbo, and is spooled by a TMS 3.4L Stroker Motor, TMS Stage 3 Head, and TMS 272, 9.9mm lift cams, just to name a few. With the addition of a 100 shot of nitrous, this customer’s car is making over 1200 to the wheels!

This July 4th weekend we set out to race the ADRL Independence Drags IV, but Mother Nature had other plans. After once again grabbing the #1 qualifying position in XTF, the steady rain moved in, and the race was eventually called off and postponed. The event will be completed at the ADRL Hardee’s Gateway Drags III on August 7-8 at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, IL, just outside of St. Louis. The completion of final eliminations of the Independence Drags will take place on Friday, with the Gateway Drags to be completed the next day.
During a recent trip to my hometown of Punta Gorda, I took a few hours to checkout a new attraction generating some buzz, Muscle Car City. Over the past 40 years.Rick Treworgy had assembled one of the largest private collections of cars. After running out of space at various warehouses the cars were scattered across, he decided to purchase an abandoned Walmart and bring his collection into the public eye, and Muscle Car City was born. The collection includes at least one Corvette from 1954-1975, these aren’t run of the mill Vettes either, most are equipped with 427s, manual transmissions and other rare options. The collection isn’t limited to just Corvettes, there are plenty of other 60-70s GM products, assorted hot rods, modern muscle, and even some retro rods sporting modern creature comforts while maintaing a vintage look. If you’re an automotive fan visiting Southwest Florida I suggest blocking off a few hours to check out this one of a kind collection, it’s worth every bit of the $12.50 admission fee.

Check out the gains of the Titan Motorsports (TMS) converter vs. the Precision Industries (PI) converter. This test was conducted by Alpha at Induction Performance on a stock bottom end, stock head, with HKS 264 camshafts, HKS exhaust manifold, Turbonetics T72 turbocharger, Blitz front mount intercooler, 3″ downpipe, 3″ exhaust, Precision 1000cc fuel injectors, Bosch 044 in-tank fuel pumps (2), AEM Twin-Fire ignition amplifier, Boost Logic built Toyota automatic transmission on E85 with an AEM EMS tuned by Alpha.
We think the results speak for themselves, as many people have been quite satisfied with these new converters. The TMS converters are available in 3200, 3500, and 3800 rpm stall speeds.
This past weekend some of the Titan crew made a trip over to Tampa to check out the Ultra Evolution Car Show. The show was a good time and was definitely a success, with over 150 registered cars in attendance. Nikki Contenti was on hand to pass out some goodies, and managed to snap a few sweet shots. Here’s a few pics from the show:

Evolution Motorsports chose Titan Motorsports as the official Orlando stop for their East Coast Summer Tour. After spending a few days in South Florida, the EvoMS crew trucked up the turnpike in their toterhome carrying the EVT650 Porsche 997.2 PDK, EVOT1200 Porsche 997.1, and Gumpert Apollo super car. Todd Zuccone and Matt Carrick kicked off the visit with a seminar for our employees on the history of Evo and their commitment to building only the highest quality Porsche products on the market. We were then treated to a first hand look at some of the great vehicles put together at Evolutions Arizona facility and the precision engineering in their complete tuning packages. I personally enjoyed the EVT650 car, I’ve never been a big fan of automatic sports cars, however the PDK system combined with the additional horsepower provided by Evo upgrade package made for a very fast, responsive car that drove better than stock.
Titan Motorsports is proud to join the Evolution Motorsports Dealer network, and soon will be a fully equipped EvoMSit dealer, capable of flashing most ECU’s in house from Porsche to Ferrari to Mini and everything in between. We will be offering their complete line of tuning packages and can install any of their power packages available for Porsche vehicles, both in the United States, and abroad. For more information on having your vehicle equipped with Evolution Motorsports parts or tuned with EvoMSit, please contact one of our specialists at 407-277-8423.
