Twins – Twin Supercharged Novitec Ferrari F430

March 31st, 2011 Comments off

Most people turn their head when they see a single Ferrari F430 on the road, this week at our shop many thought they were seeing doubles. We had the pleasure of having these 2 Ferrari F430 Spiders in the shop the past few weeks. The cars owner originally purchased a 6speed car and equipped it with Novitec Rosso’s brilliant supercharger kit. After having a change of heart he decided he wanted a car with Ferrari’s F1 trans, so rather than trying to deal with the headache of a transmission swap, he decided a car swap would be much better suited, and bought a newer model 430 with the trans he wanted. Once the car arrived it was torn into and received Novitec’s supercharger kit, giving this stallion a bit more gallop. Our heart still remains with the Supra, but I must admit adding forced induction to exotics and creating super cars is also getting a bit addicting. We’re a Novitec dealer and the Southeast install center for all your Ferrari Maserati needs.

Precision has just announced its T4-Flange Divided Turbine Housings. The idea here is to divide or separate the exhaust gas pulses to keep the exhaust gases from interfering with the exhaust blowdown from the other cylinders. By doing this, the turbo’s performance is improved and boost builds quicker.

American Le Mans Series – 12 Hours of Sebring

March 22nd, 2011 Comments off

While half our crew was in Houston for the TX2K11 meet, I brought our Speed Yellow Porsche 996tt to the PCA Corral at the ALMS 12 Hours of Sebring race. This annual event marks the start of the American Le Mans and Intercontinental Le Mans series, with teams battling it out on the famed 3.7 Mile course in Sebring Florida. The race is a grueling 12 hours on Sebring’s rough surface, whose concrete foundation has remained primarily untouched since the 50s, making a true challenge for teams sorting out new cars and drivers.

The race had many surprises as teams battled the gremlins associated with new cars, new equipment, and new teams. At the end of the 12 hours after a great day of racing BMW took the top 2 spots in the GT class in their E92 M3’s, with the Corvette team rounding out the podium in third. Oreca Racing’s Peugeot took the top spot in LMP1, followed by Highcroft racing in second and the factory Peugeot effort a close third.

The American Drag Racing League, the nation’s premier sanctioning body for the sport of eighth-mile drag racing, has just recently announced that they will switch to a more conventional points system to determine World Championships. Furthermore, the addition of points has also come with the addition of higher payout winnings. With an incredible $356,000 points fund, the ADRL can now also be considered the richest doorslammer drag racing series in history. For the full story, Click Here.

Well, things started out good in Texas…

ADRL 2011

March 17th, 2011 Comments off

It’s that time of year again, when the ADRL Series picks back up where it left off. Many of the stars will be back again this year for what will surely prove to be another action packed season.

The Titan Scion will be back, sporting some new livery. In our last 3 seasons with the camo colors, we campaigned the Scion in all 10 events. This year however we are taking a slightly different approach. With the way the series is set up, it is not necessary to race every race for a chance at the Battle for The Belts. With this said, we will be running a limited schedule this year, with our opening race being at Palm Beach International, in our home state. For all the race fans, definitely check out the ADRL season opening Dragpalooza VII in Baytown, TX, and join Titan for the Safety-Kleen Spring Drags II for Titan’s first race of the season. Open House 2011

March 14th, 2011 Comments off

This past weekend, we held our annual Open House event here in Orlando, and had a great turnout. There were some hot cars on the dyno…

…as well as in the parking lot.

Titan Approved Cattering

We had raffles and give-a-ways, and even made some of the crowd work for their free prizes. This little guy wasn’t afraid to break it down for the crowd.

We even threw in a little musical chairs.

The decision to use plastic chairs was totally worth it!

We had tons of stuff to give out, and a lot of goodies to be won in the raffle

Winning!

The weather was beautiful, and the turnout was great, Fun times all around. Check out the gallery below for more pictures.
